Everybody! : RE-MIXED

Post by bigbluebarry » Thu Sep 18, 2008 4:31 am

So I was working on this song till about 2:30 last night, err.. this morning... I'm planning on submitting it to a variety of listings but in particular the Tween Pop/Rock kind. My ears were shot by the time I finished last night so I know the mix is going to need to be tweaked a bit (like bringing the snare up a bit during the verses). I thought I'd get a fresh set of ears on it. Any advice?Everybody - http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=trueand the lyrics...Here's a song for the ones in the back rowTired of hiding from the answers that they don't knowSayin' don't you make a fool of meTrying so hard I can barely breatheHere's a song for the ones in the front rowTired of proving they're the ones that always gonna knowNever being who you wish you'd beWorking so hard you can barely breatheNo matter what your name we're very much the sameWe're very much the sameC'mon and sing itEverybody love somebodyEvery boy and every girlEveryone around the worldEverybody love somebodyTake a chance and you will findThis could be the best day of your lifeHere's a song for the ones in the back roadsHidden away in the cities no one else knowsSayin' someday I'll get out of hereThe day will come when I'll get out of hereHere's a song for the ones being held backCuz you were born on the wrong side of some trackSayin' someday I'll be free of thisThe time will come when I'll be free of thisNo matter what your name we're very much the sameWe're very much the sameC'mon and sing itEverybody love somebodyEvery boy and every girleveryone around the worldEverybody love somebodyTake a chance and you will findThis could be the best day of your lifeCopyright 2008 Barry French and Joel Shoemake. Thanks,Big BlueUPDATE: I uploaded a re-mixed version of the song, brought the snare and vocals up a bit. We also added a little something at the end of the bridge to hopefully make the transition back to the chorus have a little more "pop" to it
Imagine a steel cage match between Daughtry, Coldplay, Paramore and Demon Hunter with Joe Satriani as the referee...

Hey Blue,In a rush so don't have enough time to get into details of the production right now (except to say it sounds pretty damn good) but I just want to say the song is great! Really, really catchy! Cameron

Great tune Turn the vocal up a little and pan them a little more to the right. Then I think you will have it mB

damn blue, this old man is jumping up and down here--REALLY!! damn well done, you have it nailed so well, i have no helpful comments at all--it is just so cool man--this will have a market, and man you crammed it all into such a neat package. oh, and the mix has so much going on and you STILL can hear your vox!!!! WELL DONE!!oh, only comment is the spacey intro--i'd do something more traditional/pop--its cool and all, just the only thing that doesn't seem to fit...but hell, that's a bit picky--rock on darth!!!the best, warren

Very good tween song IMO Blue..... huge hooks! And I don't think it needs too much tweaking on the mix for song submissions, except maybe a little more of the 2nd guitar on the right side, except during the riffs in the breakdown section.Awesome job!

Fantastic work BBB. Really good in every dept. Thought the snare was a touch lost throughout (except bridge) and maybe the hats were too low in verse 1/2. Personal opinion and strictly 1.5c. I feel very awkward criticising anything about this and certainly don't have the production chops of yourself, Zoom et al!Best of luckLiamPS FWIW I love the opening filters.
