Cameron... thanks!mB... thank you, I think I know what happened with the panning. I had one of the sections in the bridge panned towards the left, but I think it was on the same track as the verses. I had a very frustrating time trying to mix that song last night and by that point I wasn't alert enough to catch the mistake. I'll check that out when I get home tonight.warren... thanks man I think I may "tame" the panning down a bit on the intro part. It's a little bit busier than I intended it to be. zoom... thanks! We are a perfect compliment to each other in our strengths and weaknesses and I feel SO BLESSED to have him not only as a co-writer but also as a best friend. Didn't mean to get all sentimental but I know that when it comes to this style, I couldn't do it without him. Carry on...

thanks Bill, I just posted an update about this thread in my original post re: the mix. I uploaded a new version of the mix over the weekend with the snare being up more in the mix. I'm guessing the version you heard was the new version. Does it sound like it still needs more snare? - Big Blue

Hey Blue, I still think the snare could come up. BUT I tend to like mixes where the vocals are just barely above the snare.

This is going to get picked up for sure..... excellent songwriting and catchy catchy chorus hook.....Really nice nuances throughout and you really are controlling the FX perfectly.... This is a hit song we have been priveledged to hear ahead of time- good job!!!Mix is perfect to me in my headphones, and they are the same one taxi peeps use!Man, make sure you pick a good entry for this song and a good company because anyone will grab this right away, just make sure you get the one you want. hey blue man!!!i really still dig this tune, seems like you compressed it a bit more, real tight and nice man.damned good tune--think i agree with the snare comment of billg up there, think it would give it just a bit more "today" sound and snap.... oh the intro is much cooler, more subdued, but definitely there and better balanced...sell it man!! the maceman is absolutely right on!!the best,wh

zoom and Paul... thanks fellas!Maceman... thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement, MUCH appreciated.Warren... yep, I did compress it more. If I had all the time in the world I'd go back and spend more time in the mastering stage removing the volume spikes so I could compress the entire thing more evenly but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I came to the realization last weekend that I'm reaching the point of being my worst critic 'cause I wasn't even close to being happy with the first mix I posted. I'm much happier with this one but I still think it could be better. But I don't think I can afford to tweak it to death, I think it sound good enough for me to move on to the next song.
