YOUNG DAYS - a stoney mix and master
Hi,Thanks for all your help with this song so far! We weren't totally satisfied with our first master. Though it was probably broadcast quality, we wanted more. So we got Darren Stone to re-mix and master it. Judge it tough. We are shooting for film-tv placements. If you hear anything in the mix that you would adjust, tell us. Darren will still make a tweak or two if needed.http://www.mp3unsigned.com/showmp3.asp?mp3id=55454 lyric button available if you wantThanks loads,Dean, Matt, Tim, DarrenPS Thanks to Tim W for the great vox!

Hey Dean... this is great.... cool hook.... production sounds clean...Good job!!Peace, GeoP.S. I hesitate to add this as I have been away from the boards and missed pre-production postings of the tune.... but if you have a chance you might consider making the music behind the first verse a little different.... build into the second verse maybe..... when I listened without the lyrics I thought it was going into the chorus....sectional difference has been the theme of my screeners of late so it's on my mind... thought I would share... Good luck!!

Re: YOUNG DAYS - a stoney mix and master
hi dean--i still dig this tune allot.although i'll trust j-man's ears, as they're younger, to MY ears, the entire mix is a bit--damn how does a non-techie lousy musician say it--needs to sound more "sonic"? a fuller sound...if anybody agrees, help me out with the technical words please. it's a damned good song, but there is SOMETHING from keeping this from what i would call "master" quality.that's all i got, sorry for the vagueness, i do trust my ears, and there's something i'm hearing (or more appropriately, not hearing,) a fuller mix? argh!!! of course if nobody agrees with me, i AM losing my hearing (and it aint just tuning out my wife, though she does that better than me...) LOLall the best, warren

Jay, Thanks for listening and commenting. Geo, thanks. Yeah, a few others have commented that they wanted less instrumentation in the first verse, more of a build. It is a very reasonable suggestion. Warren, thanks. I think it is good to voice an opinion, even if you are unsure of the best way to say it or what you might do to fix it. All opinions help.Dean

This is a good song and I think broadcast quality for sure. I think that maybe what Warren is hearing is the lack of a definition or tightness with the kick drum and bass. If they were "punching" together the song may have more impact, but I thing it's a subjective thing for sure. Good job guys!
