A piece for piano and flute

Post by wignelson » Thu Sep 18, 2008 11:17 am

Tony Sams on the piano, and Wig on flute and strings. Can anyone suggest a listing this would fit? I would like to submit it, but like always, I'm a bit lost as to what listing would call for this.http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplaye ... 99285&q=hi

Very nice flute playing. With some minor mix changes, I can imagine this being used in a variety of ways -- a nature film, a science documentary, possibly for dramatic underscoring in certain scenes, possibly for a new age listing.I would suggest these changes: Lower the piano in the mix. It's competing with the flute for dominance and sometimes overpowers the flute. Then I'd take out the strings entirely. They just muddy up the texture, sound like an afterthought, and have a very synthy quality. You'd have a much cleaner sound without them.Just my 2 cents.Richard

I wish I had better string patches. Until I do, I might do well to just write the parts and then back them out again.Wig

hi...I think it might go in a nature film...but it might go through for sad instrumentals, too....The mix could use warming to up increase the vibe and hit it home...great flute playing....You could also shorten it and leave the strings out altogether....when they come in it's too late in the song, and too...."what's that all of a sudden"...good lucksounds really good, vtbp

I loved it just the way it is. Although I can also see where some of the comments on the strings and synthy sounds are coming from as they might be more of a distraction, but I still liked the parts and how they were used. In any case, I thought it to be an excellent composition that was very well performed.

One of these days I need to spring for that East West library. Maybe when i get a song forwarded I can justify it. LOLWig

(Bad Company) I love to get him to play piano, too.I'm glad you like the tune. People have been after me to do an album of healing music for decades. Maybe now is the time.Wig

I joined Taxi in June 2004 and had my first instrumental forward in March 2007... AFTER I bought East West Silver. Not that running out and buying it automatically will make a difference... but having good quality source sounds cannot be underestimated IMO.
