I'm shocked.
After two plus years of online submissions this was my first ground submission. I actually burnt a CD with seven songs to submit, and threw California on there just at the last second, thinking that it might be the one that would hold back all the rest being forwarded, since all the others were from a professional studio session with quality players, and California was not.HA! Got the postcard today (kind of fun/different from an email), and in fact the ONLY one that was forwarded was California. This is super-f@$%ing-awesome-level exciting (shocking) for me because it is the first song that I wrote, performed, engineered, mixed & mastered 100% on my own.I'm also slightly confused because I thought it was an 'all-fowarded' or 'none-forwarded' situation. The song California And the listing:MTV-quality ACOUSTIC ROCK/AAA INSTRUMENTALS a la Jason Mraz, Teddy Geiger, David Gray, etc. are needed by a huge TV Production Company that currently produces three of the most popular shows for the world's largest music cable network. Nothing too cute or bouncy like Jack Johnson, but not heavy either. NOTE!: For this listing, it is required that 6-12 submissions be made in order to be considered for this particular request. For that reason, there will be NO ONLINE SUBMISSIONS for this listing. ONLY GROUND SUBMISSIONS will be considered. DO NOT SUBMIT TO THIS LISTING ONLINE. If you have questions or need a ground submission form to be emailed to you, please contact TAXI. All tempos are OK, though mid to uptempo tunes are preferred. Great-sounding performances are essential. Please do not submit songs with unclearable samples. Songs/tracks must be Broadcast Quality (excellent sounding home recordings are OK). All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. Please enclose a S.A.S.E. if you would like a response. Submissions must be received no later than Jan. 31, 2008.
