How long is the wait?

Post by vickye » Tue Feb 12, 2008 7:27 am

Hey there,I joined TAXI in August and feel very lucky that I have had quite a bit of my music forwarded on and the comments are very supportive. I am just wondering what the time line is on the waiting process? I am not expecting an overnight response at all, but would like to hear what others have to say.Thank you for sharing your story.Vicky

Hi Vicky,From what I have read on these boards, it ranges from " some people got notified by the client before they got notified by TAXI, and I have read others have gotten contacted two to three years after getting forwarded. The one thing I learned from the Road Rally, " Submit your tune and Forget about it "I joined in July of 2007, and have had a bunch of forwards, but no contacts. Right after reading your post I happened to check my e-mail and there was an e-mail from my first forward from November 2007. ( Not a deal yet but definitely a step in the right direction.) Patience, Praying and keep on writing)Good Luck on your forwards! There are a ton of successful writers on this board, so I am sure they are going to be able to give actual examples of how long it takes.Bob

Hey vickye-- I joined around November 1, 2006. Thirty forwards to date, but no contacts yet. I'm just trying to keep busy writing new music and submitting my growing catalog to new listings that come up. Hopefully, the old adage is true: "Good things come to those who wait." Hope you get a call or email soon for placement on one of your tunes!

Hey vickye,I just recently (today!) got my first contact from a library wanting to sign one of my songs and it took just over a month from forward to contact. -Steve

I had my first forward in December 2006 and was contacted by the listing party in December 2007. It can be anything from a few weeks to two years. Or not at all. No way to know, so you keep writing, keep producing, keep submitting.
