I'd sing one of your tunes anyday.<-----admittedly has never watched a single episode of AI though. Thanks, Tim. And from what I've heard, I'd be honored to have you sing one of my tunes!Perry

This is really random, but I have to tell a funny kid story, speaking of "American Idol" and all. So this weekend, my 6 year old daughter and I were out on a walk, and we saw a replica of the Statue of Liberty. And I'm like, "Hey, honey, do you remember what that is?" She pauses for a few seconds, and then goes, "Uh...the American idol?"hahahaha!!! I got a good laugh out of that one.

That story is great! My wife bought me a t-shirt a couple of days ago (wearing it today) that says:"American Idle" and has a cartoon illustration of a fat guy laying on a couch. (Credit Paul Frank designs Hmmmmm. Wonder what her motivation was for that. I mean, I could lose ten or fifteen pounds, but come on.Perry

Another good thread infected by nonsense and bile.Too bad, Perry. I'll say it again over here: Perry's song stands on its own merit...it is genuinely excellent and appealing, and would be a very good vehicle for some of those finalists. I think this song would make a very successful single...and Perry a very successful "beginner". Good luck, Perry! Nevermind the flak...you're on the move.

Recently got a chance to catch up on all the posting going on, so I may be a bit late chiming in here but just want to say that my experience working with Perry on this song has been terrific - anyone given the opportunity to work with him in the future should consider themselves very lucky. I am truly grateful for any opportunity I get to work with genuine professionals because, as you know, people can be nuts! (DISCLAIMER: that was a general statement based on my experience and not directed to anyone on this thread! )Again, thanks to all the supporters. This is just the tip of the "iceberg of success" for Mr. Smith.Cheers,Logan
