Forward Question
Hey guys,I've recently got a couple forwards to companies that accept submissions online anyway. Granted I wouldn't have heard about these companies without Taxi, but is this common practice? Thanks,Matt

Re: Forward Question
mattI think coming from taxi it might go to the front of the line or top of the pile or whatever in terms of all the submissions these online companies have to listen to so a forward from taxi probably puts you at least one up on someone submitting on their ownscott

Re: Forward Question
Agreed. Unless you're coming to them with some "cred" already, a TAXI forward will move you up a notch. Partly because they are going to TAXI looking for something specific. If you were to submit to them generally, it would be much more of a crapshoot because you wouldn't have the inside info of what they were looking for in that moment.Congrats on the forward!!Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Re: Forward Question
Matt, questions....would you have had to pay to submit to those online sources? And did those online sources give you an idea of what they were looking for??? essentially eliminating the shot in the dark answer offered by Scott???

Re: Forward Question
Hi kvnlnt,Nope, the sites are totally free for submission and you get a yes/no within a few weeks...There haven't been many like that, but enough to make me wonder a bit... The sources also tell you in a nutshell what/when they are seeking new music...Thanks for the help...Cheers,MattFig

Re: Forward Question
TAXI only works with this entity because they are well-respected, and because forwarded submissions from TAXI members go to the front of the line. They are 'high bar', so many congrats on the forward!!!
