Hmm...2nd forward

Post by jameii » Fri Feb 01, 2008 8:18 pm

It's always hard when a forward is like a dispatch and you don't know WHY they sent it on! This was to listing: Y080116CP:Timeless/instantly memorable COUNTRY-POP CROSSOVER SONGS are STILL needed by a Los Angeles-based Manager with major and indie label clients for a Pop/Urban artist of his who is about to enter the studio. The manager just completed a Dispatch listing but didn't find exactly what he's seeking, so he's expanding his search. Hence, if you were forwarded for D071206CP, please don't submit the same songs for this listing. He's looking for a melody and lyric that is so instantly classic that it is beyond genre/format i.e. Dolly Parton/Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You." Other examples of country songs with that kind of crossover potential are Shania Twain's "You're Still The One" and Faith Hill's "This Kiss." Or think of the reverse: Pop/Rock hits becoming Country hits i.e. Gary Allan covering Vertical Horizon's "Best I Ever Had" or Faith Hill covering Janis Joplin's "Piece Of My Heart." Tempo doesn't matter, just great songs that resonate so emotionally that they stand the test of time and will feel as current ten years from now as they do today. The manager will come in to screen the submissions himself. Please submit one to three songs per CD/cassette, include lyric sheets. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. For ground submissions, please enclose a S.A.S.E. if you would like a response. Submissions must be received no later than Jan. 16, 2008. TAXI # Y080116CPThe song they sent on was:Every Now & Then...I wrote this song when I was 16! LOL..it was the second song I ever wrote...all those years ago....I"m not entirely sure how to post the link....but going to try:http://www.taximusic.com/hosting/songs. ... id=10648If that's not right, goto: www.taxi.com/jameiiThe song is Every Now & Then...Hmm...wish I knew why they sent it on!hugs!Jamie

jameii,1. Login to your Taxi profile2. Click the link that says "My Music"3. Click the "Edit" button on the right side of the song (song you wish to post) 4. After the page opens, check the box that says "Public" (then others can listen to it)5. Click the "Save" buttonRepeat steps 3-5 with each song. Then right click the green radio button that corresponds to the song and click on "copy shortcut" I think it is, and then paste (ctrl-v) in your next post.ibanez468

Quote:Hmm...wish I knew why they sent it on!Maybe because it was a "Timeless/instantly memorable COUNTRY-POP CROSSOVER SONG"? It doesn't get any better than that. Congratulations!Dave

I have some tracks that I know are useful because they've been used in several different situations and scenerios. I know they're useful but I'm not quite sure why. I sort of know but not really well enough to explain it to someone else. Sometimes that's all we get but at least we can pitch the song with confidence at that point.

Quote:It's always hard when a forward is like a dispatch and you don't know WHY they sent it on! HA! These are the small mysteries of life that aren't very painful! Nice job. Much worse is the Dispatch submission that you don't know why it didn't go!! I hate that...Congrats!cb
