pop/rock..."Glass House"...any thoughts?
This is a song submission for a Christian artist aiming for the pop/rock genre. Any thoughts are appreciated..."Glass House"http://taxi.com/alanpowell

Alan,Nice song! I like it. The chorus is quite strong I think. Though I think it could use a little more support from the backing track to really lift it .. the potential is there for more .. just a little more/different instrumentation under the chorus, imo.As for the verse, I couldn't really hear the vox too well. Maybe bring them up a bit.Real nice vocal performance.Dean

Hello Alan,I agree, very good vocal performance!Like Dean mentioned, the chorus is strong and has potential to be even more so. What little I can offer from a production standpoint, would be that the guitar sounds kind of muddy and the snare a bit too harsh in the opening verse. I think adding a little lead guitar would be nice. I'm not talking about soloing necessarily, but some kind of lead sound to help give the song some dimension.I really enjoyed listening to this one. IMO, you have a winner here!

Very cool song, as mentioned good chorus, yeah guitar does sound muddy and maybe add a little fullness to the snare, a little thin there. How bout a rhythm guitar doing "le Freak" style high strumming during the chorus to help it bounce along, or a keyboard line? Just an idea, Good job, Geo

Good voc performance. The double kicks seemed to knock the tune out of its groove potential. What happened to the bass? The guitars are a little muddy but you could compensate by soloing the guitars and bass to get a good blend then bring up the drums to drive the beat. I might add some B and E string two note chords on the 2s and 4s for high freq syncopation.Just my point 02I do like the tune though.

So I played around with your tune a bit to show what I meant. I added a couple of simple guitar parts. BTW your voc should really be increased about 2 to 3db in the mix.http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... 6&stream=1

I really like this song. It has a good groove and great vocals. I agree with other posts in that the vocals should be brought up in the mix... But overall, great work! Good luck!

Yeah I hear ya. I knocked that out quickly this morn before work and posted just to illustrate how I would add to the tune. Since the vocs are 2 to 3 db too low in the mix and the gits are too hot I simply went over the top. And I mixed on phones rather quickly. I made it to work with two minutes to spare. BTW my co-workers like the tune and all say that the vocs are too low but a good performance. The concensus is that the gits are too muddy and a little too prominent. It was 50-50 average joes v.s. players who listened.
