Not sure where this fits

Post by jamesrjones » Sat Feb 16, 2008 2:16 am

Hi all.I'm not sure where this song fits. To me it's got an older pop sound, maybe 80's-90's? Let me know what you think. General comments and suggestions for improvement are welcome too. Thanks to all who comment.Jimhttp://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_id=101601&stream=1Gonna love you for the rest of my lifeBaby I'm here and I'm slowly burninglike a candle in the calm of the night I walk the floor, tracing lines of worryas the dark bleeds away the lightMy head is spinning and my heart is poundinglike the rain from the raging skyI'm so tired of this constant heartachewant to scream and I want to cry!Gonna love you for the rest of my lifeCouldnt sleep but I dreamed last nightYou and me in my fantasyMe lovin you and you lovin meGonna love you for the rest of my lifeCouldnt sleep but I dreamed last nightYou and me in my fantasyMe lovin you and you lovin meBaby I'm weak, not a man of steelbut there's kryptonite in my veinsI'm so wired that theres just no sleepingTook some pills, just to keep me saneSo I call once again, cause I've got to reach youlike a man hanging on for his lifeDriven by the pain of desperationlike the point of a jagged knifeGonna love you for the rest of my lifeCouldnt sleep but I dreamed last nightYou and me in my fantasyMe lovin you and you lovin meGonna love you for the rest of my lifeCouldnt sleep but I dreamed last nightYou and me in my fantasyMe lovin you and you lovin meI need it, you've got it, there aint no doubt about itYou know it, you use it, And I'm about to lose itI am addicted and I just can not get enoughMy body's hurting cause I'm aching for your love Gonna love you for the rest of my lifeCouldnt sleep but I dreamed last nightYou and me in my fantasyMe lovin you and you lovin meGonna love you for the rest of my lifeCouldnt sleep but I dreamed last nightYou and me in my fantasyMe lovin you and you lovin me

when it first started I thought of "I need a hero", I forget who sings that, but I'd say there is a definite 80's influence. Nice vocal performance. Some of the string sounds seem a little iffy...maybe a different arrangement would remedy that though. Nice tune. Good luck.

OK, I shall pass my crown as King of the 80's on to my man James!! Love this song, it's gotta really cool, quirky groove and I think I have a home for it....80's-era ORIGINAL POP SONGS needed by a veteran Commercial and Indie Film Producer, working on her independent feature film which largely revolves around the music of the 80's era and the specific events that occurred in the year of 1984. Some of those events include Marvin Gaye's death, Michael Jackson phenomenon "Thriller", the Tylenol scare, etc. You think in the general and broad range from Duran Duran to Oingo Boingo, Tears For Fears to Madonna, Morissey to The Cure. She is looking for both the popular and the obscure sounds of the 80's music scene. Songs that are selected may be used as montage pieces or in feature moments, such as an on-screen radio show or TV commercial. Original material only. Broadcast quality needed -- great sounding home recordings are OK. Please submit two to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Feb. 27, 2008.TAXI # S080227POShocked if you didn't get forwarded here... good job, Geo

Hey here's one I might throw at this one, kinda early U2 feel, it was recorded in the 90's on a cassette multitracker, I'm going to "master" it and send it on, but I'm expecting a critique to base a rewrite/rerecord on, not a forward, enjoy... Geohttp://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_id=1016 ... m=trueKnow that I Love You Girllyrics and music by George Danielscopyright 1990Verse 1:Where am I going now, wherever love goes,It takes me away, but will the feeling stay.I’ve drunk the sweet potion and I’m dizzy with the drug,I’ve set the wheels in motion, to be with the one I love,No matter what she’s done.Chorus:Could it be, it happened to me, I’ve made my choice,On the phone, all alone, to hear your voice,Do you love me, do you need me, recognize the truth,Love like ours gotta go far, only one thing we can do, Know that I love you girl. (x4)Verse 2:Outside the sparrows sing,Outside the sparrows sing, a new day dawns,Outside the sparrows sing, a new child is born,Outside the sparrows sing, it won’t be very long,It will be a new world, for you and me,A new world, can’t you see,A new world, only one thing we can do, Know that I love you girl. (x4)ChorusVerse 3:Where this all begin, who could ever know? You spent a week in my world, now I know I love you girl,I would swim the deepest ocean, leave everything behind,I’d climb the highest mountain just to make you mine. There is nothing that I won’t do, to show that I love you girl.Know that I love you girl.
