"Take a Ride"...thoughts??

Post by apjc10 » Sat Jan 12, 2008 12:30 am

Any and all opinions are appreciated...There are some rough parts in the vocal 'cause it's 2 in the morning and I can't sing loud because the people in my building complain a lot...sorry about that...you'll get the idea though...P.S.- Who would sing this??Thankshttp://taxi.com/alanpowell"Take a Ride"

Hey Alan, nice groove, I'm way outa genre so I can't offer any help there. In fact all I'm going to offer is maybe fine tune your drum sound, maybe a punchier kick, better snare sound (I'm currently looking to upgrade my drum library as well) and the bass sounds to "round" maybe a little more high end to help it cut through? Guitar sounds nice and I like the riff. Like the song alot.. GeoP.S. I listen to "Freedom into Slavery" as well, again good song. It sounds like you may need to upgrade production aspects (again I'm in the same boat) but you got some chops there my brother.P.P.S. Welcome aboard, and good luck.

Thanks for the thoughts man. The track to "Take a Ride" is one of those that you just played around with as you are learning some software ( in my case it was BFD ). It has since then sat on my computer for almost a year now and for some reason the other day this song just came...I have since expanded my drum library...EZDrummer, Reason, BFD, Stylus RMX and any samples I can get my hand on have been extremely helpful. I dont know if that would help you at all too but...just thought I'd share...thanks again.-Alan

Alan-Ditto geo's comments about the drums, but it sounds like you're on it already.Otherwise though it's a nice piece of work. I like the hook.Terrific vocals!Don

Frankly I think it is terrific. I would definitely buy it even though I am more of a rock guy.
