imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

I don't think mentioning money is taboo - its just already been detailed in the forum here very well before, and also talked about in Matto videos on Taxi's YouTube page.Audio Loops CDs are great for Hihat patterns, even if you don't use them for any other drums.....

Vikki,Those are a couple of nice tunes but I don't think either is what an industry type would call "romantic". I agree with the comments above. You either wait until a listing comes along for a "contemporary jazz" feel ala Charlie Hunter or MMW or you write something new for a specific listing. Either way you win. Keep recording your own tunes and put your own CDs up on CDBaby.com. View the Taxi situation as a different musical challenge. It's all music.Steve

yes....Vikki is the singer that knows what's goin' on here....with an amazing voice I'd like to add....and great tunes....and a process that works...and I'm Vicky the Bassplayer (everyone calls me that) who is trying to get a handle on whats goin' on here....Thanks to everyone that gave their input....I'm clear.....my music is great for the contemporary jazz listings (I will wait for listings)....and I will be building electronica for listings....I've been in the shed for a few days.....Thanks to everyone I have a plan that should be workable>>>>>Vickytbp

Re: Is this Romantic?
hi vicky the bass playerfrom my limited perspective, you are one helluva musician, and your jazz vibe is incredible. though not very romantic to ME, i bet with the musical talent you have, you could write damn near anything--just my opinion. if i had your talent i'd try other genres (well i do, but i'm NO musician, just 20 chords and a cloud of dust--or synth in my little studio.keep up the great work, i appreciate it, for what it's worth. now with that said, i'm probably supposed to try to write a jazz tune--hmmm, very scary...heinsite out

But that doesn't mean you have to go as far afield as electronica (unless of course you enjoy that). You could do some swing stuff, maybe small piano trio "piano bar" type things...some small combo cool jazz, even smooth jazz. Just watch tv and movies and make a note of what kind of styles that you are already really good at get used a lot. Whatever music gets used a lot... chances are good that somebody is looking for it or will be soon.

Re: Is this Romantic?
great advice once again....Matto,,,,I don't know why I didn't think of writing some simple jazz combo tunes that have a specific vibe(romantic, emotional) record, and be good to go....I've been literally killing myself with genre issues on electronica for an upcoming listing....I ended up with a rattlesnake with a flange on it for a hihat....so maybe I should step back from it....it doesn't sound like Goldie, but it's very cool.....Thanks....everyone...Vicky
