André, Don't have anything to add to the crits...I think the first round of them was right on. I just wanted to tell you how impressive your turnaround was. ("Two years ago, huh?...all right, how about this?") It's not often I encounter people who have both the songwriter's creative gene and the engineer/producer's technical know-how...and I NEVER see such people behind Cokebottle lenses...but you got the goods, sir. Good luck on the listing---if you can do this, you can write what they want.-Lyle

Quote:It's not often I encounter people who have both the songwriter's creative gene and the engineer/producer's technical know-how...-LyleThanks Lyle...but hang around these boards for awhile and you'll meet several! Let's hope Taxi and the listing party feel I have as much potential as you do. As for the coke bottles, I considered Lasik surgery but they said they'd have to cut out so much that my eyes wold fall out of their sockets every time I bent down. I want to reiterate how great it was to get meaningful feedback from you all that really made a difference in the song. I tend to lose my objectivity about a piece after awhile, but the worst part is I don't always realize it...so I'm going to be more intentional about seeking feedback from you good people even if I think a song is "done."Thanks again to everyone, and Happy Holidays!André

I'm not going to pretend to be expert enough to tell you if this song is right for the listing or not, but I can tell you I LOVE THIS SONG. (I'm hearing a Weezer influence) I want this tune in my ipod dude! Rock on!!!

Thanks for the listen and comments, Dom & ephlat...knowing that a song is liked is as rewarding as knowing it's been forwarded! Speaking of which, this one wasn't. Like Dan's tracks, it got a great review all around (with dings for the lyrics being a bit too suggestive [good call, Aub] and for the production possibly not being "big" enough) - but the reason given for its return was that I only submitted one track and the listing called for two:Quote:I'm returning this track based on the lack of information that only one track provides - the criteria of this listing specifies enough information to determine if the writing relationship matches up on a basic level...Thanks again to forum members who helped me get this track into shape!André
