Dude,Anyway I can download this song from you, I SERIOUSLY LOVE IT!!!! You are right though, I'm trying to think of which artist/band would sing this song, and thinking maybe coldplay (just because of the chilled vibe)....VERY VERY COOL SONG!!!

Re: Smile
Hi Michael,Nice vocal/melody on this track, and yes, VERY GOOD vibe as well. I'd look to pitch this for some tv/film placement. Its nice and moody and the mix sounds pretty good to me, definitely broadcast quality. If you're in a frame of mind to ever re-work this one, I would explore ways to enhance the dynamic. It revs up to 65mph and then the cruise gets set and thats where it stays until the outro...just my .02Peace,Tim

Re: Smile
I love this song.I especially love the line "Jack loved Jill but lost his crown"I'll agree with Tim on the dynamic enhancement. Also to me the outro seems to be a bit flat. It seems you were trying to have a contrast with the simple piano versus the rich sonic landscape you came from, but it didn't work for me as is. Maybe it's the issue of the sound itself - maybe add a bit more reverb - maybe it's too long. - Just one opinion.Do you ever pitch to the singer/songwriter listings or any of the artists listing? (I'm assuming it's you singing on all these tracks)Trent

Re: Smile
Hey Michael-- Nice track and cool vibe. My suggestions are primarily for the dynamics, especially at the beginning, when the drums and keyboard loops are so prominent. Try adding some automation to the volume/panning for some subtle variation. Maybe even a little flange or chorus if you can bring in just a little amount and bring it back out. By the time you get to the harmonies (at around :44) there is enough texture that it isn't an issue, but in the early development it sounds just a little too programmed. Otherwise, I agree this track could find a happy home in TV/film.

Re: Smile
I love this song....it's got a real retro 80's vibe to it, even though Coldplay has been mentioned too. I was even thinking the vocals sounded a bit like Bono/U2.The dynamics of the song seem fine to me.....I have to say that I liked everything about the track from start to finish, but each to his own. Good job!

Re: Smile
disappointing to hear that you're not looking to go the artist route, because you have a great voice. it's very recognizable. i feel that if i heard you again somewhere else, i'd instantly remember you from this song (which is a rarity for you). the chorus is very catchy - i was singing along by the second chorus!i feel the drums could be livelier and more in the forefront, and the bridge wasn't utilized the way it really could. it could've been a climax, instead it was sort of a placeholder.
