Dramatic Instrumentals
Alright, taking a breather from rock here for a minute and just finished a piece for this listing:A NY-based Music Publisher/Library (with studios also in Nashville and Los Angeles) needs great and very current-sounding DRAMATIC INSTRUMENTALS for placement as underscore for network TV programs such as "Desperate Housewives" and "House". Instrumentation that sustains a low level of tension, such as vibraphone-led arrangements, is preferred. Sixty seconds to 3 minutes is the recommended length for this pitch. They've placed music in shows on HBO, ABC, NBC, FX, the Discovery Channel, the Sundance Film Channel, and the Learning Channel, as well as in films produced by Focus Features, Red House Pictures, and USA Films, among others. They asked us to be extra selective when screening for this project. This company offers a standard publishing contract, where they assume the publishing rights to the track and the composer keeps the writer’s share of the income/royalties. License fees are split with the composer on a per project basis. Broadcast quality needed [excellent home recordings are OK]. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. For ground submissions, please enclose a S.A.S.E. if you would like a response. As always, we will notify everyone via e-mail, whether your submissions have been Forwarded or Returned. Submissions must be received no later than 4:00 PM, Pacific Standard Time (California time), Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007. TAXI # D071218DRIf anybody would like to check it out and let me know what you think, that'd be great!"Sneaking Suspicion"http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... Thanks!Dan

Sounds good Dan.My only comment is that some of the the little run at :30 of high pizzacato strings sound a little strained (is that the right word?) It kind shatters the MIDI illusion for a second. I'm working on mine right now, will post later.

I think it works all the way through, but it gets SERIOUS just past the 1:00 mark. From there on out, it's just about perfect.$.02Ted

Mazz, Aub, Tim, Daniel: Good work here, from a lot of people! I didn't know the competition for a library listing would be so high-bar. I gave it a go with one new for the listing and one from my catalog:Machine Gun DramaSweet Witchy(notice my challenge naming instrumentals too!)

Re: Dramatic Instrumentals
Just got my emails... Dissonant Reflection was forwarded...The other two were returned... THAT SCREENER #XX SUCKS!!!Hmm... wait a minute, #XX did forward one of mine, so if he/she sucks then that one would suck too which means by saying he/she sucks I actually suck myself... YIKES... not a pleasant thought.Which leads me back to my age old philosophy... there is no gravity, everything just sucks.Aubbtw-- I actually would have been surprised if more than one of the other two had made it. They've both been forwarded before but were not dead on for the listing target. Close enough to take a 5 buck shot at though Now to go frame my certificate, and put two more pins in the screener #XX voodoo doll
