Whatcha think?

Post by elser » Fri Nov 09, 2007 9:14 pm

Hey Peeps, just submitted to this one, it doesn't get a critique so I wondered what ya'll think.NEW LISTING -- 1970's ARENA ROCK SONGS with huge riffs & choruses are sought by the Pres. of an LA-based Publishing Co. for film/TV placement. He wants original, CURRENT-SOUNDING material, of course, but in the style of the Marshall Tucker Band, Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin, Foreigner, ZZ Top, Foghat, Bad Company, Heart, Aerosmith, KISS, Grand Funk Railroad, etc.http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=1Here's the lyrics"Into The Sun"I wanna liveI wanna flyI want to know where my limits lieI try to giveTry not to crySo when I know it's my turn to dieChorus:I'm gonna drive right into the sunI'm gonna rock the heavens aboveI'm gonna walk NO! I'm gonna runI'm gonna drive right into the sunVerse 2:I take the joyI take the painWithout both there's nothing to gainI want to see moreWhat's not to live forBut I know there will come a timeChorusBridgeNot today Not tomorrow But I knowChorusRight into the sun 4x

Hey Elser! I think I might've added some harmonies ala those bands, to make the chorus bigger (maybe multiple voices shouting "no!" at that one spot), but it all works for me. You got the riffs down jes right and your voice (is that your voice?) is perfect. Good job!Let us know how it works out. Pullin' foi ya!

OMG! That's fantastic! It totally took me back. Awesome production. The only thing I kept wanting to hear were two or three layers of vocal harmonies in that chorus. I think that would really fill out the "arena" sound.Kathleen

Dude, AWESOME!! I really dig this cut, Squidlips and Kathleen pointed out I think the only thing that could make it better (chorus harmonies) but other than that aces!!! Geo

Hey I think you have a hot song there. the lyrics are excellent, well thought out.Your melody is catchy. The production and recording were very strong. The vocals were great. The one thing I believe could really help is some killer harmonies in the chorus.

Elser, no doubt about 2 things:1) You absolutely nailed 70's arena rock style with this one2) It needs those harmoniesIs this all you? Just excellent tone on your guitars. And what a voice. You sound like a talented David Lee Roth.(Ooo, sorry! I MUST learn to not be disrespectful of artists that annoy me---after all, unlike me they are actually successful, and they might be reading my nasty posts...)Anyway, really a great one, Elser---no joke about that. Very fun!-Lyle

Hey you guys, thanks for the feedback, sorry I'm so long getting back, I've been traveling around the Mediterranean for the last 2 weeks and internet access is hard to find and expensive when you can find it.I know exactly what your saying about the backing vox, it was killing me but we ran short on time and couldn't get 'em recorded. I'm gonna put 'em in anyways even thought it's already submitted because it's just screaming for them.I played guitar and bass on this but the vocals are my friend Mark McPhail who is one of the standout singers in Reno. Thanks for all the feedback, Elser
