I'm the One
Here's a little tune I just put together to pitch to a library who signed one of my other songs. I tried to focus really in on crafting something simple, poppy/hooky, and marketable. Just curious to see if anyone can give me some feedback before I pitch it...I'd appreciate it!"I'm the One"http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=1Thanks again,Dan

Hi daniel481I like it my friend very catchy tune and lyrics.Iv'e listend to it a fair few times now so I know I like it,And if your aiming for people arround my age group it may just go down well.Thats 40+ tho.Re-minds abit of the sex pistols the way it starts. I don't mean that in a bad way either as I like them also.SteveP;s could be a good title for a song (So I know I Like It)

Its got a Fountains of Wayne vibe. The vocals seem a little pitchy to my ears.I like the synth melody line a lot.--What is that BTW? The production sounds F'ing fabulous as do the other one or two songs I remember hearing from you. Do you give lessons?

Thanks man, I love FOW, so that's for sure a compliment As to the synth, it's straight out of Reason. Wah Lead in the NX-19 I think? As far as sounding pitchy, was it a particular spot to you, or overall? I noticed that the first "ooo's" in the chorus are a little off, but I thought I was pretty careful about the rest of it...Glad you like the production! That side of it's been my main job for a while, so I've had some practice I have given some lessons before, but not sure how we'd do it living in the same city...Thanks again!Dan

Dan, I'm not crazy about the vox on this, they sounds a bit shaky and pitchy. Also the Ooh part on the chorus I think is way too loud, it jumps out of the mix.The track sounds good, it's just the vox that I think need to be a bit more polished and really a better more engaging performance.Music supervisors tend to be real picky when it comes to vocals.HTH,matto

Hey Dan,I agree that the vocal needs work. I would either get someone else to sing it or really work on getting that performance down. The track sounds fantastic and the whole thing could be spot on with a good vocal. It sounds very contemporary and very hooky. I was easily singing the melody after I heard it. You could easily get this track placed, but that vocal needs to kick butt! It's well worth fixing buddy.Cisco

Hey guys, thanks for all your tips. I went back and listened to it tonight, and definitely agree on the vocal comments...it's always interesting to come back with fresh ears and hear all of the things you missed when you thought you were really paying close attention Anyway, I worked on the vocals for a while tonight trying to take care of those issues, and I think it's pretty nicely fixed up. Curious to hear if you guys think so as well...Here's the link again just in case:"I'm the One"http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=1Thanks again, I really appreciate it!Dan

Very cool track! I didn't hear the earlier version, but I like this a lot! I didn't hear anything off-pitch that jumped out at me but that is definitely not my strongest area... It sounds like you could have a really strong replacement track here for the right "a la's"... opportunity. Casey

Also only caught the tweaked version but sounded good - in fact, you wanted hooky, pop rocky and marketable and I think you nailed it Did I get a bit of The Cars in there? Or am I just still stuck in 80s BTW, good job on the GD forward Liam
