Re: Emotional instrumental
Lovely melody I feel your pain in trying to get the piano right. My hands are like 2 bunches of pink bananas. Good luck and good job.
It's a fine line between a thick soup and stew.

Very nice piece. I think it's on target, I could work for this project. However, I think you need a better piano sound. It's sounds pretty cheesy, kind of M1 like. When it's just solo piano you really need something that sounds pretty close to a real piano.matto

Thanks for your input matto. The piano is the Piano from the OmniSynth package for SampleTank. I also have the piano collection and I do have the EWQL Gold piano. Do I need to upgrade my piano sounds? Any suggestions? Trent

Hi Trent,Nice Piece! You mentioned that you played it to a click track- Personally, I'd loose the click track, keep tempo, and let the tune breathe..Good Luck!

TrentI would think the biggest pianos from the piano collection and the one from Gold would both sound better than what you're using, Omnisynth is pretty cheesy. If you're in the market for something better, I always recommend Sampletekk pianos if you already have a pro sampler (Kontakt, Halion, Exs or Giga), and as Michael has pointed out they have a sale going on now. Their Black Grand (Steinway D), White Grand (Bright Pop Piano), 7CG and TBO (both a Yamaha C7 and the most extensively sampled pianos available) and the Post Emperor (Boesendorfer 290) they're selling are amongst the best piano samples available. If you don't have a sampler, your least expensive options are probably EW Boesendorfer or the Art Vista Virtual Grand. And of course there's Ivory but that a bit more pricey. All of the above are very well suited to Solo Piano performances and will easily beat the stuff you have. And bmete's suggestion to play this freely and not to click is a good one.
