Walk on the Wild Side
Just got this dispatch listing yesterday: New Listing The Music Supervisor for an LA-based Trailer House/Advertising Co. needs a COVER VERSION of the famous Lou Reed song “WALK ON THE WILD SIDE” (from his 1972 release “Transformer”) for a new film trailer project. The supervisor wants a “more energetic” version than the original. Great performances are essential. Male or female vocals are OK, but male are definitely preferred. Broadcast quality needed. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. For ground submissions, please enclose a S.A.S.E. if you would like a response. As always, we will notify everyone via e-mail, whether your submissions have been Forwarded or Returned. Submissions must be received no later than 4:00 PM, Pacific Standard Time (California time), Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007. TAXI # D071030WSHere's what I put together today...just curious to see what you guys think!"Walk on the Wild Side"http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... trueThanks in advance Dan

Hey Dan, I think you're right on the money with this. What makes the song great is still there & you've "kicked up" the energy like they want. Good Job man!

Thanks, glad you like it! They weren't incredibly specific with what they wanted, but this is just what came out...so I'll keep my fingers crossed that they'll like it too Dan

Hey Dan, good luck with this one, I like the treatment a lot.I had a question about the vocals (doubled or harmonized?) they seem to be outa sync a bit (intentional?). I had a quick listen last night and just went to double check and the link is down, oh well, good luck... Geo

Good job Dan, this is one of those long shots but you've got a worthy contender IMHO.

Re: Walk on the Wild Side
Hey, Dan.Gotta say ... I LOVE the original SO much, I was having trouble getting into it at the beginning. But the deeper I went into it, the MORE I was into it. There's very little more difficult than "remaking" a classic and having it still work on so many (or AS many) levels. I may not have the knowledge or experience of some of the members here, but I say that's a fantastic job --in VERY short order-- of a very tough request. I fully expect to hear from you in a few weeks that this one made it through. Nice work.Ted

Re: Walk on the Wild Side
Thanks for all of the responses guys! I'm really glad that you all seem to like it so much. It's always really helpful to hear back commentary...and it's always fun when it's positive And as far as the vocals being slightly out of sync, it was intentional Thanks again guys!Dan
