Deantaylor- please feel free to give me a link to some other material you have. I would love to hear it. As I wrote a member earlier, a baseball player that hits .250 is damn good. So he only gets a it 1 in 4. If we as song writers can bat maybe .100, we are doing awesome!!! Show me your most radio friendly piece.

Didn't know Erin had a nickname. You are right, she is great!John, I might settle for one in a lifetime. lol Try the song 'PLAY THE GAME' at this linkhttp://www.mp3unsigned.com/showmp3.asp?mp3id=39587 We'll keep it within the baseball analogy. lol Thinking of releasing this song to radio at the beginning of baseball season next year. Do you think it could get any airplay?Dean

I could see it as bumper music for a sports radio show. Is this supposed to be radio ready or are you pitching it for an artist? It's a pretty neat little song...

Hi DeanThis one's really nice. Well done... Although production and engineering is not my area, it has a clean, well-produced sound and should pass for master-quality.I see it as a much better film/TV pitch than an artist pitch because I don't hear that killer chorus that would make it hit single material. But in a film/TV scene, it should work well.I admit that the guitar intro made me think a blues song was coming- it might be out of character... And I'm not sure about it at the end of the song- doesn't seem to fit and may be up to loud. These are easy things to fix with a re-mix.Good stuff! It shows how collaborating with the folks you meet on-line on forums like this can result in marketable tracks. Casey

Re: Would this song get forwarded?
I cant answer anything about forwarding. I dont enjoy this kind of music but sometimes a song is strong enough that it sneaks past this bias. This song didnt on several levels.Intro :Not striking enough Intro vocals : No oomph. seemd to be singing the words not the meaning of the lyricchorus: Not dynamically different from the verseThe whole song suffers from lack of production experience. The drums in the chorus are a distraction with the extra beat IMO just your average song. Maybe with a pro producer it might get above average but Hit material or even high level rotation on radio.. I dont think so . I didnt read the lyric because the music didnt grab me. If the body of the lyric matches the title then maybe pitch in CCMJ

Casey and Carr, thanks for your feedback on FAITH. Seems Casey's opinion might be pretty close to the majority/average opinion that we are getting on this song. The producer is already thinking of changing the guitar intro and outro. They were put in before we found our singer. The singer, Erin, gave the song it's country feel, so ......DeanPS John, thanks for the feedback on the baseball song.

Our producer was on vacation. He just got back and read your comments. I thought I'd update you on what he said. He said:-----------------------------------------------------------------------------I read the critics and I agree with most of them. The song was produced as a Pop/Rock song, extra beat on the bass drum in the chorus was how it was in the original demo, giving it a rock style... so I went in that direction with it... guitar intro and outtro in a Rock style too but like you said and we both know... Erin sang it as a country song and that changed it all... and now with that extra beat and those rock guitar solos ... it sounds like a bad production/arrangement... and it really needs to be re-arranged. I also feel that the bridge needs something more.... it doesn't stick out as it should.. I'm ready to change the song... since we now have it tighten up as a country one.. let's see what I can do.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I'll repost when we get another version, so you can hear how it sounds then. Thanks again for all your comments.Dean

Re: Would this song get forwarded?
Dean, Putting myself in the position of a singer looking for a song to sing/record, I can hear the potential in your song. I generally like the words, and the vowel and consonant sounds they create (which would be important to me as a singer). But if I were going to sing something like this, I would change the melody of the chorus to go higher (or range higher and lower) and be more dramatic. And I can hear the opportunity just waiting there in this melody. It wants to go up in the chorus. On the production side, I agree with some of the previous comments on the drum; the heavy beats combine with the bass to weigh this down and keep it from flying. Once you take this into country, you might naturally use rhythm that's a little more fluid, possibly lighter. One other thought - there are lots of opportunities for instrumental fills during some of the held vocal notes. I can hear some nice opportunites for a higher, more treble, fill instrument, maybe fiddle or mandolin, if you're going country with this.I think you have something worth building on here, something which might be appropriate for several different genres. I'm excited to hear where you take a new version. Jewel
