Re: New Member! Hip Hop Material!
Just to let you know that some-one has listened to your stuff: I have! I like the rapping and choice of samples, although I think I'd probably do a little bit more with the arrangement to support certain bits of the lyrics, and I also think your mixes aren't yet really doing you justice -- I think they could be bigger-sounding and punchier than they are. The best mix was Fly, and Sweet Lies was also a bit better, but the others sound a bit small to me. There are lots of potential reasons I might be getting this impression, but I'll have to get back to you on the details when I have more time. I liked 'Return of the Movement' as a track, and would be interested in doing a new mix for you on spec if you'd be interested -- might perhaps get across what I'm hearing in my head better than just yapping about it!

Thanks for taking a listen to my material. I thank you for all of the pointers and critiques that you made. Yeah, I concur that the mixes could be sharper to make the sounds crisp and clean. Thanks again!

I liked it but it might limit the appeal to others.Thought the rapping was tight (good second tracking) but a bit hot in the mix during the choruses. Maybe up with the sample loop.I don't do the 'n' word, 'bitches' approach. No criticism of your songwriting. I'm just a typical uptight, white and not-in-the groove guy who just doesn't get these lyrics and the 'if she don't get up early, I'm gone' idea. I live in Europe and am foreign to these cultural ideas.Mixing and the odd lyric aside, I thought the rapping was just fine.Liam.

def agree with triviul... depsite my on music genre being of the singer/songwriter variety I have always listened to alot of hip hop and rap. I think you have the makings of some good tunes here... the rhymes are good, the general vibe is cool...(bit like nas) but you definitely need a bigger sound... bass and more punchier... think Jay Z.. anything he touches is gold... Umbrella song... awful lyrics... awesome beats... you got the lyrics down... just need the mix to back you up... good luck mate.. look forward to hear some more stuff from you soon... peace.
