Dervish Dance - Armenian?

Mazz, Your "fez" in the ring ( I don't if they wear a fez in Armenian) has alot of energy as well as creating a great deal of tension. Would work well in a scene with "rogue cops' pursuing a suspect. (or another rogue cop)Chuck

Thanks guys! Actually I do have a Fez hanging on the wall in my studio. A memento from my trip to Egypt 16 years ago. Don't know if they wear them in Armenia either, though.On to the next challenge! What's the next hat we get to wear?John

Hey Allen, thanks a lot for your kind words.As you know from my reply to your sampler post, I'm a fan of East West libraries. The strings are from one of their libraries called RA. It's the Middle Eastern string section patch. If you hit the key hard enough, they do that sexy little bend automatically. That and a touch of basic echo and instant strings from space!The lead instrument is an Oud from the same library, run through a suite of guitar amp and fx simulators called Nigel. It runs on a UAD-1 card. I wanted to funkify the Oud to take it away a little from the traditional. It too has cool bends and vibrato built in to the patches. Great stuff all the way around. Good. Musically, I am not sure about the synth bass or whatever that is. But dramatically it does add tension and some modern feel, so maybe you are on the right path here.
