Re: Don't Wanna Realize - first try
Hey man, I like the song, I agree with the guys that it would fit in a film scene or maybe you should submit to a classic rock, jethro tull listing. The biggest problems are with the production in my opinion.1) I think maybe its a little too slow, you could try and speed it up by about 5 BPM.2) The bass and kick are still sitting on the same freq, maybe the kick just doesnt sound right on its own? I think if you keep playin around with hese freqs then it can sound clearer.3) The drums sound WAY too programmed for me. I like the sound, its just that they sound fake. Some of the fills when there are a few snares in a row, its really noticeable. Also, there is a tom fill in the middle of the first verse first verse and to do it, you took away a snare. If you want to keep that fill, I suggest you leave in the snare and shorten the tom run, otherewise it takes the attentiona way from the vocal.4) The guitar NEED to be double tracked and panned hard left and right in the mix with a bit less distortion and keep them low in the mix.I like the vibe though, I really can imagine it in a number of TV series or movie scenes. I think it would be a good idea to re-record everything and jut keep learning. That`s the best way to improve your craft. Anyway, keep up the good work.Colm.

Well you either have to record a real drum kit or use good quality samples. You can get samples for free on the net and if you search for a good while you should find some useable ones. However, to get broadcast quality samples you have to pay.
