I thought the voice was badly recorded. A strange reverb and a lot of the tops cut.Are you using one of those Roland electric pianos with piano and strings/choral sounds emitted simultaneously.I also didn't like the drums very machine like.I did like the song though. Hey man, I listened to the song and its good but I have a few criticisms.1) Its well recorded for the most part and the fake drums sound good but just not for this song. A live sounding kit would give the song more feel.2) I think the acoustic is a little too high in the mix, its kind of taking away from the flow of the song. I also think you could add more electric guitars on the chorus and definetely in the solo section to add more depth and give it a lift.3) Its a bit too long I think too. 4:11 is very long for a hit. Try and shave a minute off it if you can. You could take a bit off the solo and off the second verse. Maybe try speeding it up by about 5 bpm too.4) There are a few tuning problems in the vocal. This is fine if your pitching to an artist that is gonna re-record it anyway, but it just depends what you`re pitching it for. The end sounds a little strained too so maybe you could lower the melody there?I hope you take my criticisms contructively and good luck with your music!Colm

hi all and thanx for your time and thoughts .this is a very rough version of the tune, its in the writing stages as we posted it so many things could and probably will be changed , thats why we posted it . drums are loops from discrete drums collection.guitar was recorded through a focusrite platinum penta , then into mackie 32-8 into sonar.as i said brfore this is in its writing stages .a work in progress so all the vox are rough . no edits havent decided what to keep, is this part to much , kinda thing.the time of the tune and individual parts may be shortened as well ,. the tempo felt a little slow to me the more i listened to it too. as soon as i get the pins out of my finger i will most likely retrack the whole tune anyway.maybe simplify the track a little. thanx again for all of your thoughts and concerns i do value your opinions.
