Re: Anyone want to share commercial clips?
Quote:Any of you watching dispatch (or this thread) know about this recent listing. There's lots of competition outside of taxi, so why don't we share our own ideas and try to raise the bar amongst taxi folks. I don't really focus on the competition side, just getting better, so here is my first attempt from scratch:demoComments? For those not in the know... the listing is:The Music Supervisor for a French "laundry detergent" TV commercial is in need of a 0:30 SECOND INSTRUMENTAL that meets the following criteria: They want a 0:30 sec. strong, memorable, melodic theme, that can be arranged in different styles and still be recognizable; it should be aesthetically pleasing for the French market; not loud or abrasive. No vocals/lyrics, if there is a voice it should be used as an instrument. The music should evoke "nature," "natural," "fresh," "soft," "wide," "warm." Any style and instrumentation is fine. Your 0:30 sec full version will be also cut down to 0:20 and 0:10 respectively. I like the feel of your piece, songwriter, it's got a nice groove, it feels uplifting and happy. The percussion is neat. There's no melody til 9 secs in, though (there is a nice riff in the guitar but it's not prominent), and there's something in the production of it that's troubling me, I'm sure what it is... whether the bass is too buzzy, or the piano too bright... something doesn't feel 'clean' and well mixed about it.

Re: Anyone want to share commercial clips?
My midi interface fell over late on Saturday night, and it took until last night to get it back up. I did get one piece done though, as soon as I get it ready I'll upload it.

As usual... when I doubt I go simple. But I can't decide which one is more tuned to the listing - "aesthetically pleasing for the French market; not loud or abrasive"...Track #1www.DaveWaltonMusic.com/MyMusic/Spring.mp3OR Track #2www.DaveWaltonMusic.com/MyMusic/VenganzaDelDiablo.mp3What do you guys think? PS - I can't get Songwriter's stuff to come up (even with disabling the popup thing)

Hey Songwriter - I couldn't get your tunes to play, even withoutthe popup blocker. Any other links? All of ours have vocals, so we won't be submitting on this nice juicy listing. The instrumental tracks are for live piano / vocal over them, so the melodies are on them. Bummer. Dave - #2 is AWESOME.

I can't get songwriters stuff either I got the stoopid midi interface working again, so here's my first effort.http://www.goldingmultimedia.com/dg/tests.aspDave, track one imo. It gives a nice feeling of positivity. Track 2 is cool too, but seems to be a bit more suited to a high energy theme.

However, it might work for that sports listing...

Re: Anyone want to share commercial clips?
Alright...We're going to have to get a couple of you folks tuned in to the "winky-blinky" emoticon thingy's here. A sly wink followed by a big silly grin as in:What do you guys think? (referring to which song is aesthetically pleasing and not loud or abrasive)means I'M KIDDING!!! You two giving me the serious "not track #2" critique... what are we going to do with you? As for the ones who gleefully exclaimed "SEND #2!"... clearly you are mentally disturbed (like me!). (three big silly grins mean I'm having a bit of fun).
