Where a heart can fly
Here´s another one, lyrics by Katy Powers music by me and a couple of other guys. Been trying to show this one to Katy for over a year now but she´s not to be found. I lost the sep files so this is one of the first crappy mixes, sorry about that but I think you´ll survive.hi-fi URL: http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplaye ... 93106&q=hi

Re: Where a heart can fly
Kind of strange nobody wants to comment on this one since I picked this lyric up here at Taxi. Damned good lyrics some of the best I´ve ever seen, guess you don´t agree though. Well if anyone of you guys know this Katy Powers please let her know it´s up here for critique. I´ve been trying to get in contact with her via mails asking her to listen but her computer is allways out of function she replies. I´ve got at least one more version with a much better singer than me wanting to pitch this one and if Katy does´nt want to surface we´ll go on without her. It´s a good song with a good lyric and who knows the industry over here might like it.Göran

I don't know. Where is everybody when you want them.I had a listen. I thought the lyrics were nice. There's a little misty logic there. I had to try and imagine how the boy could comprehend such thoughts, being inexperienced in life, but children do daydream some forward looking thoughts.I'd like to hear another voice doing this Goran. I didn't get the feeling that I thought the song was supposed to convey. I'm not sure your voice suits it.I'd like to hear the following on it.A female in the style of Dido. Soft tones.OrA male in the style of Bono. Harder tones.Do you agree?

BTW. It might be a bit dodgy for you if you put this in for a listing and you can't find Katy.If it gets forwarded and accepted, you'll need her agreement, and if you can't get hold of her, it might look bad on you.

Maybe the time difference (and last weekend's flurry of postings on other subjects) knocked it out of view. It might be helpful if you posted the lyrics here or provided a link to them.Pretty song, production needs work, but you know that. Not sure what genre you're going for, it feels very youthful in tone - like something intended for the children's market. Sweet & dreamy for sure. I agree you cannot do anything with Katy's lyrics without her permission. If you are not able to contact her you will have to write new lyrics. As mentioned above, unfortunately no one is going to want to place a song that has potential copyright issues.Hummin'bird

Re: Where a heart can fly
Thanks guys here are the other to versions one male and one female, the Rebecka version is not so good she was a little to young and unexperienced but in a couple of years wov she´s going to be good. Harmonica Mike (a fantastic harmonica player to) wanted to try her out so we did I mean to get a clue on how it might sound. Theese recordings are just demos and poor ones to but I guess that does´nt matter they´d redo it anyway no matter how good the demo. Mikes voice is just so much better than mine but I like my melody a lot better, for some reason he could sing my melody.Katy said in a mail way back I can do what I want with it but still it does´nt feel right. I mean if it for some reason (which I doubt) would get picked up by an artist over here she´d probably never know about it and what ever money it would generate would be sitting on a bank account for no use.GöranWhere a heart can fly Harmonica Mike hi-fi URL: http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplaye ... 06640&q=hi Where a heart can fly Rebecka hi-fi URL: http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplaye ... 02376&q=hi

Well the issue with these companies is that the song isn't 100% yours. You may trust Katy, but they don't know her, and will be reluctant to go ahead, because they will assume that she will change her mind at some point in the future. No matter how much you tell them that she wont. They don't have to take the risk.If two people owned a car and one of them tried to sell it to you, and told you that the other person said it was OK. You'd still want to hear it from that other person before you went ahead.I listened to both versions.Although Mike had a nice voice. I found it hard to understand what he was saying.I liked Rebecka's version better. The words were nice and clear and her tone suited the instrumentation. Here timing was a little out, and there was the odd flat note, but I'm sure if you left it with her for a few weeks to really learn and feel, she'll do it justice.

Thanks Jeffe you´re right about Mikes version sounds really good but there´s some problems with the pronounciation here and there. Probably cause he had a hard time sticking to my melody and at the same time wanting to create his own so I guess he got stuck in the middle treating it more just like notes not words. Rebecka is going to be one hell of a singer if she keeps on like this. I believe she was 15 years old at the time this was recorded, I have never met her this is an online collab. Thanks again for your tips and kind words. Bye from Sweden.Göran
