Considering Taxi again with a few new tunes..

Post by thenonoboys » Sat Oct 28, 2006 4:31 pm

Hello. My name is Derrick. I've cruised these forums a bit and am also a former taxi member. Tried it for a year with my band, The No-No Boys.. and like many others on here, got a few forwards but no takes.. So, now we've got a few more songs that are a little more "refined" as far as structure and time duration goes and I'm wanting to try more submissions.. So many people on here have really good stuff! And a lot of it sounds at the level of studio quality. Well, if you have the time, would you mind a few comments on two of our more recent songs.. "This Could Be" and "Broken Promises" (both are less than 3 minutes ) on our Broadjam site here:http://www.broadjam.com/artists/artist_ ... 6727Thanks for your time!-DerrickPS I also recently found out that you can have your songs reviewed my Taxi screeners with out paying for submissions. This is true, right?? That's another reason I'm considering coming back!

Thanks for the encouragement, Michael! Hmm.. I could have sworn I read that in an email from Taxi somewhere.. That they could give artists feedback on songs without actually having to submit them to listings..?? Did I just make that up? haha..

Did I just make that up? haha..You're probably thinking of a "custom critique" where you can send in music to be critiqued not as part of any Taxi listing, just for your own purposes. It's $10 per song so I think that you were only dreaming on the "free" part. There was a thread not long ago that talked about stepping away to regroup a little and then trying again rather than just giving up. I like your overall approach here as WELL as the music. Good luck,Dave

Did I just make that up? haha..No no you didn't make that up, nono... It's called a custom critique. But it's not free, you still have to be a Taxi member, and the submission fee is $10. However you'll get a more in depth critique and you can also ask the critiquer to focus on certain aspects of your song if you like.

Ahh.. Custom Critique. That must have been what I remember reading about.. I guess I subconsciously inserted the "free" bit. Has anyone here used it and found it to be helpful?? I guess I can do a search and see if anything comes up. Thanks again for the info everyone.-Derrick
