Hey Ty-I dig your beats. Yhey a have a grungy attitude and a unique sound w/all the dissonance you use.I think "Old Days" and "Living the Life" have too much harshness in the highs; I'd take out several dB's at ~8k, and maybe some higher freq's too.The tonal balance on "Get By" is much better; I suggest you use that as a reference for your other tracks. This track is also my favorite from a creative standpoint...however, the synth part and the sustained string pad near the 2nd half are actually TOO dissinant; they confuse the listener's awareness of the beat's pitch center. Simplify the synth line with more "friendly" notes, and sustain the string on a different note...possibly a whole step higher. The last track, "Clear Mind," is real cool...I like the electro-sounding sample that comes in so distinctly throughout and breaks up the vibe. However, this track also suffer from an overabundance of high frequency content - you can make tracks bright and full of presence but eliminate frequencies that are harsh to the listeners' ears.Listen to your tracks loud and see if they sound smooth or abrasive...you should be able to get 'em up there pretty good without significant ear fatigue. If you start hurting quickly, find the source of the offending frequencies and pull 'em out (but careful not to rob the life from the track).Of course, you don't want to be monitoring consistently at loud levels...that could damage your hearing. Plus, after awhile you'll start to be able to pick out the harsh frequencies without needing to turn your monitors up so loud.Great work!Respectfully,Andre
