Re: Music of Richard Staines
Richard,I listened to Chill. Some nice guitar work and an interesting melody. But the lead does sound improvised and the mix is very bass heavy, which is emphasized by the fact that it is distorted and there are some inappropriate bass lines. Put everything well behind the guitar and mostly get rid of the distortion. Try EQing the bass with a notch filter to drop the 50Hz about 3db (at least). Hope this helps.

Re: Music of Richard Staines
The lead is improvised indeed though there are a few key phrases that appear in variation and I do need to remix. There are 2 bass parts. The top bass part is too loud for most speakers to handle. Headphones seem a lot better at handling it than speakers. Only had the mixing desk a few months so still learning.Chill was more of an accidental experiment really.thanks for the advice. I do plan on remixing it.But I want to record a couple of songs that I play live next.
