This is the second half of my project to display this non-gender lyric from both sides ............ at least you'll know the words by now . Lyrics - Don Martin Vocals - Julie Burton Production - Gator Hole Studios Bonus - Tigar Bell (Travis Tritt's band) on fiddle http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemus ... dID=415204 YOU AND ME ©-2005-Don Martin when you left me you just walked away I wanted to talk you had nothing to say I didn't understand why I was treated that way it took a year for the pain to fade and then you called like I was on your shelf like you were justified like I should blame myself well just because I'm not with someone else doesn't mean I want the plans we made there wasn't interest when I was asking why it wasn't missing you that made me cry (I wanted closure) ... not more history (I wanted answers) ... not more fantasy (I wanted treatment) ... with more dignity not more of you and me yeah I remembered when we first met it's been the hardest thing I've ever tried to forget and falling in love is what I most regret I was blind but now I see so please don't question why your sorry won't do and don't be acting surprised that I can't forgive you and lets not pretend we can start something new it will never be you and me there wasn't interest when I was asking why it wasn't missing you that made me cry (I wanted closure) ... not more history (I wanted answers) ... not more fantasy (I wanted treatment) ... with more dignity not more of you and me (I wanted closure) ... not more history (I wanted answers) ... not more fantasy (I wanted treatment) ... with more dignity not more of you and me not more of you and me

Re: You And Me (Julie Burton vocals)
This song has a nice sound to it but I think the screeners will think there is not enough lyrical imagery for the country market. I just had a country song forwarded to a music library and that is probably the best placement for this song because of not quite enough imagery to the story. The country market is hard! Good Luck!

Hey Don,I read the previous review and thought about it a while... I listened to both your versions and tend to agree that the female version sort of runs through without too much capturing to the listener about what the lyrics are saying... I believe your male vocal version slows it down to set-up the mood the lyrics are trying to portray... Just my thoughtsKeep 'em coming... I gotta get me one those studios bands some day.. Great recordingDaveMy noisehttp://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandid=189280

Hi Di & DaveI agree that the male version brought out a better connection between melody and lyrics ... and probably represents the most commercial version of the two .In the female version , the lyrics themselves provided opportunities in several places for some serious (Gretchen-like) delivery "attitude" , but came off as more "swing" in the demo --- which (I agree) , failed to connect meaning and delivery . The beat wouldn't chase people of the dance floor ... but it lacks as commercial for sure .Appreciate both of you giving this pair a listen .... Don
