Return for Singer Songwriter Songs
S090114SSI received a return for this listing. "Poor" scores, off target and not current sounding. I'm trying to learn.Outside a little reverb, an "unprocessed" acoustic guitar and voice... not sure how to make that more current sounding. I guess my style for this song was the culprit. I wrote this song for the listing. The reviewer had some positive comments though, and actually the critique was more in depth than usual.ACOUSTIC SINGER-SONGWRITER SONGS are needed by an established Music Publisher in L.A. who has secured TONS of Film/TV placements for many TAXI members. This Publisher is only looking for songs that are piano/voice or acoustic guitar/voice - NO additional instruments in the track, please! Songs should be original and along the lines of Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith, Rufus Wainwright, Patrick Wolf, Fiona Apple, Rachael Yamagata, Aimee Mann, Tori Amos, etc. All tempos will be considered for this one, but please be sure that the arrangement is SOLO piano/voice or guitar/voice. Solid performances are necessary and recordings need to be Broadcast Quality (excellent home recordings should be just fine). Male or female vocals are just fine. The song is on my home page "Backward Tracks"http://www.taxi.com/lunaumbra Backward Tracks.Crossing the Bridge the house does loomOver a creek so cold I can only presumeCreaky steps with an old front doorI gave it a knock but I'm not sure what forEntering the foyer see the grand stairsPeople all around some giving prayerI thought I saw someone I knewBut she had passed way back in JuneCounting the years watching the sandHow much of this is at our commandWhat will I surmise when I look backBy following the trails of my backward tracksGetting in line awaiting my turnWhy am I here I'm trying to discernAll by myself surrounded by lightTry as I may I could not put up a fightCounting the years watching the sandHow much of this is at our commandWhat will I surmise when I look backBy following the trails of my backward tracksHe looked at me right in the eyeI'm not ashamed to say I was mesmerizedLifting me up two beings at my sideAs strange as it was I took it all in strideCounting the years watching the sandHow much of this is at our commandCounting the years watching the sandHow much of this is at our commandWhat will I surmise when I look backBy following the trails of my backward tracksCopyright 2009 LunaUmbraPosted for those who may be interested to hear what didn't get forwarded for this particular listing.Fog
