Laughed My Ass Off

Post by rivercitymusic » Tue Nov 25, 2008 3:13 pm

Well that Taxi screener sure put it in black and white!I am still laughing my ass off.Now i'm a no-body here and i want that to be known up front. You guys and gals are the real pros or artists or whatever. But it sounds like Taxi is dealing with a bunch of cry babies, waaa waaa's, or whatever. You're all grown ups! Act like it. So what if something you did is not the best in the world, guess what it happens to everyone and happens every day! Get over it and do better. Now i'm not associated with or touting taxi or anyone else but we joined to get honest feedback, not someone to powder our butts when we get irritated. Geeeeeeeeeeeeeesh! Now i've heard a lot of good stuff here. And i've heard a lot of stuff here that is under another heading. Some of mine are in that other heading too but that's life, i'm still kicking, living and breathing and i'll do better if i choose to and IF I AM REALLY ABLE TO. I'm not a miracle worker. So i know i have limits. It's really fun though to try. hell the forum threads are a soap opera all by themselves. Now lets follow the advice and see if it gets some honest feedback that can support or oppose the taxi critique. how's that.now i know you all hate me because i didn't take a side. well i'm not informed enough to take one, yet.I'm too old for this! but it's fun!Doc

Your post is making ME laugh MY ass off!!!It reminds me of the time when I was @ a talent showcase where the top winner would be given some free recording time in the local studio and some other crap, I don't remember, probably because I didn't even pass the first fricking round. (This was back in early 2003. I was one year over the age limit of 30, but somehow was able to slip right in, even though they checked all our ID's. I guess using the edge of my thumb to cover up part of the last digit of my birth year really DID work...)You should-a heard the bitching' and griping' going on back there! This was right in the thick of "Clay-mania". They had three or four dissecting his song "Invisible". (Don't get me wrong I wasn't thrilled about losing out myself, but... S--- happens. It really DOES. Just gotta roll down hill with it, pick your butt back up, wipe the s--- off your clothes and start trying to climb on your hands and knees to the top again, maybe you'll make it this time.)Some of the lyrics they were dissecting were these: "Saw your face in a crowd. I wish I could be a fly on your wall," He then said, "Man, it sounds like this guy is a serious stalker!" and they all started laughing... (Look if I ever make it big they can criticize my songs all they want I'll laugh all the way to the bank,)We had a contestant there who was rejected (on TV) at the American Idol auditions, NOT because he sucked but, in Simon Cowell's words, "You're just not what we're looking for."It's easy for those who finally make it, AND for those who've never experienced the pain of rejection, to criticize us as cry babies. Some of us are, no doubt. Will YOU still feel the same way, say, five years from now after you've faced a number of rejections, or I don't now, you might hit it big on your first try and NOT HAVE TO change how you feel.To those who ARE cry babying maybe focusing your rage and negative energies into another song MIGHT be the song that breaks you in the biz but then again.... It might not...WELCOME TO THE MUSIC BIZ!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Doc I gotta tell you, no one is worse than my "father", a hardcore jazz musician.Stick anyone in a room with him for a mere 10 minutes, and there is just nothing left!Taxi is incredibly nice...and I'll leave it at that.
