THIS TIME RETURN

Post by djdale » Tue Nov 11, 2008 3:32 pm

INTROShe told me `Goodbye' at least a dozen timesAnd each time I'd say, `No, please don't leave'Though I was sure she was out the door, she said`What would be different this time'?VERSE 1Do you remember when I went on a bingeRolled my truck into that ditch You thought I was dead and I saidI would get some help that timeCHORUSBut that time was all for showI didn't really want to goI wouldn't admit I couldn't quitWithout some help that timeVERSE 2Then last year we got into a fightI didn't really mean to hurt you that nightThey took me away, locked me up for a dayAnd sent me for help that timeCHORUSBRIDGEI'm down my knees `No, Please don't leave'She opend The Book...I took a look... VERSE 3Said `For three days I've been dry'They all cheered, I began to cryEveryone there knew, including youI would really try this time END CHORUSThis time it's not for showThis time I want to goThis time it's real, I'm gonna healWith God's help this timeThis time it's real, I'm gonna healWith God's...help.......this timewww.taximusic.com/stream/176689/ThisTime.mp3 OFFICIALLY RETURNED FOR THIS LISTING:CONTEMPORARY COUNTRY HITS a la TRACY LAWRENCE are needed by this star's own Independent Record Label, for his next project. This listing did appear as a Dispatch in order to get the label an immediate batch of songs to listen to, so if you already submitted to D080829CO you may want to submit different material for this one. GREAT songs that say something unique, touching, meaningful, compelling, etc. are needed. All tempos will be considered but mid to uptempo will be preferable here. A slightly Traditional approach is okay for this one, but the overall sound should be current. Conversational lyrics that tell a story, draw the listener in and "grab" with the hook will attract the most attention here. We'll need to be really selective for this one, so PLEASE send in great sounding Demos and most of all... make sure the songs are fantastic! Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than October 13, 2008. TAXI #S081013COSong was ON TARGET for this Artist.Screener's Comments:Strong heartfelt lyric and one w/the ring of truth. Nicely done.however the theme may be a bit heavy for an artist this youthful. I didn't know Tracy Lawrence was so young? Must be a different Tracy Lawrence...maybe Tracy Lawrence Jr? All 7's except for Lyrics 8Buddy Jewell gets a 7 for lead vocal. LOL

I got a return for this listing too. The screener said all my songs were 90s Country Rock. I didn't know I could even write 90 Country Rock - lol! While I can understand not being forwarded for other reasons, I don't necessarily agree with the comments on my critique. So it goes. Hang in there. Try, try again

What bothers me really is the fact that my A players from Nashville and my Grammy nominated producer with a major studio on Music Row put this arrangement together, engeneered it and mastered it. They deserve better than a 7 score.Buddy Jewell NASHVILLE STAR WINNER deserves better than a 7 score.Just proves my A & R theory. California country and Nashville Country are two different worlds.BLAH

I remember this song. I thought it was really good. You gotta remember, the critiques are based on the listing. The screener may have loved the singing but for this particular listing it may not have been right.Keep plugging that song its realy good and the performance and production are top notch.Chin up brother!M~

Screener checked "Right For Listing"But didn't even know who he/she was screening for .. come on TRACY LAWRENCE is not youthful .. he's a seasoned country music veteran who is 40 years old (Born January 27, 1968)Ok maybe 40 is youthful to some of you GRIN.

Very Nice Tight Tune - with lyrics that really sing. GREAT PRODUCTION work!!!I recieved 3 returns for the same listing. My songs matched the listing according to the screener but basically had some issues with lyric contradictions. My production was no where near yours and I commend you on the REALLY NICE way this song was presented.Oh well, We keep trying...I really think your tune should have made the cut and would be interested to know what did ( if any).Kitz

I was returned on this one also! My scores were all high (8 & 9's)except for marketability & lyrics! The lyrics surprised me cuz I received a custom critique from TAXI and that screener loved the lyrics! Oh well; I'll keep trying & let me know if you like my song (In This Iraqi Sand)!
