Congrats on the forwards Tom. Good stuff!<My material on the other hand was created using hardware synths/sequencers for the harder and more rhythmic parts while adding live layers on top and recording directly to DAT. Quite a primitive method for sure.>Believe it or not, that's basically still my method for creating tunes. While it may seem to be primative, it can still be quite effective for a good portion of listings that want authentic instruments (i.e. guitars, bass, drums, keys, etc...). But I'm also willing to adapt to other methods as well (computers). And will actually utilize both at the same time, which I'm sure is a common practice amongst musicians all over. Don't use DAT anymore, just because of the tape issue, but DAT is still a good tool, in my opinion, but then you have to worry about transferring the music from tape to some other media or editing program, when you can kinda' eliminate that step altogether. Hard disk recorders are the way to go these days (for the most part). Alot of musicians still like doin' it the old fashioned way though, and there's advantages to that too. Just depends on which way one chooses to go. I've heard some productions from members here where you can tell they did it the old-fashioned way (at least it sounds like it to me) and they sound great!! Then I hear the digital stuff, and it sounds great too! When you have all these choices, sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. Should I keep this digital, should I make that analog? Lots of choices.ibanez468
