Yeah Stick,Congrats on the forward!!I liked both pieces so I want to hear from you what sucked about the second one. I'm not sure if it's Rocktronica or not, that's why I want to hear more details. Was it the wurly part that took it out of the genre? The one that got forwarded is for sure more minimalist, is that a hallmark of the genre? Would like to learn more, particularly about the "dorky" factor.Way to go!Mazz

Thanks guys... I just felt like I'm not "buying" the guitars on the 2nd one. And yeah, the wurly is not as "serious" as it should be. I guess... I dunno. And the vocoder thing isn't cool enough to be that important of an element of the track. It's close... just not quite cool enough.

Martin asked me about the BFD kit... I lied. It's not BFD, it's the "Seventies Kit" that came with the new version of Logic. But, it has a healthy dose of compression/distortion/enveloper/etc to make it nasty.

Oooh... something to look forward to with a new version of Logic! Loved the track, Stick. I can totally hear them fighting over that one. An easy one for placement, no doubt. I also kinda liked that second one, for what it's worth. Not bad at all. I'm so relieved to hear of someone else who doesn't play guitar,and can still pull it off. Should have learned piano AND guitar. <sigh> Maybe I'll have to take a cross-country field trip and beg you to teach me how you do it! Nice work, Stick! Raags

Ha... it's so easy you'll laugh. I tune the guitar like this, from the low strings: E B E B B E, or if it's a nasty metal thing, down as far as C.Then lay my left index finger across all the strings, slide to the appropriate fret and strum away. I'll use Elastic Audio in ProTools to correct my less than stellar groove, and now with the new Eleven amp plug, I can almost sound like a guitar player. Though, I'm in trouble if I need something more complicated than power chords... ha ha!
