Need FAST Answer!
Hey Guys,I noticed listing #Y090819RK for "Original Sounding 70's Rock."They listed "Grand Funk, The Hollies, and Spencer Davis."HUH? The Hollies and Spencer Davis were basically 60's bands, and Grand Funk was late 70's-80's.This doesn't make any sense. Please clarify, because the listing is due August 19th.Thanks in advance,Ern

I agree,The Hollies were pop,the nearest they got to Rock was Love Potion Number 9.

Re: Need FAST Answer!
The Hollies did not do Love Potion #9. It was The Searchers who did it in the 60's as a cover of a 50's song by The Clovers. The Hollies (with personnel changes) had a different kind of hit with "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" in the early 70's - around 1972.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0LTRPMpOVMGrand Funk was most popular in the early 70's (1970-1971) when the album "Closer To Home" was a hit. The definitely were early 70's, not late 70's/early 80's.However, Spencer Davis was best known for "Gimme Some Lovin'" which was definitely in the 60's - around 1967.If you are considering submitting, I suggest you contact Taxi first thing Monday (PST) for clarification since that is the deadline day. I agree it is a bit confusing. In the absence of other information, my take would be to "a la" songs like "Long Cool Woman", Grand Funk hits like "Closer To Home" and "American Band", and "Gimme Some Lovin'" even though the time period stated for it is wrong. I agree with Casey on the material but I would add that whatever you do needs to have an old school sound. Nothing modern here.Good Luck!Keith
