That's how a lot of these upfront payment deals are nowadays.Kel you're right if you use outboard synths or even custom patches on VI's then the midi will not make any sense. I would expect they want PT session files with anything rendered to audio that's not a "standard" VI they have in their arsenal, but of course that's just a guess...

Re: Pro Tools LE Only
I'm on the fence on this one. I'm a MOTU user (probably cause I'm a dinosaur), and sending the session file on a project will show what a complete slob of an engineer I can be (not naming tracks, not deleting unused soundbites, etc...). I might pick up a copy and try, but there are plenty of other listings as well! Mark

Re: Pro Tools LE Only
As a starving musician, I'd give them blood - I'm just not a pro tools LE person. There are certainly some that I could fit to also - it's just that I don't have that software. Bummer.

Re: Pro Tools LE Only
I guess I'm still a bit confused by this listing. I do use ProTools LE and have no problem sending them my midi stuff - but how do you know if they will have the same VI's that you do? What are the standard VI's that they might have? I could probably just call TAXI and get an answer.

I doubt Taxi would know this Trent. It's not like you have to send the PT file as your Taxi submission. If you send the song, it gets forwarded, the company is interested and you agree to the contract (triple if's) THEN they would give you the specific delivery requirements. As long as you have PT LE anyway and assuming your interested in the listings, what have you got to lose?

I don't PT LE so wasn't going to bother, but if a submission did make it through the triple gauntlet of forward, their interested and a contract comes around, then for 500-700 buy out I'd get a copy of Pro Tools LE and move everything into.I'm going to now submit for these. Thanks for that!B

Re: Pro Tools LE Only
I've been bothered by these listings. Would someone require, as a condition of employment, that John Williams only record his film music on MCI multitracks rather than Ampex (in the old days of analog)? I think not.If these companies need audio stems for later tweaking, you could provide aiff bounces of each track. They could easily import the files into ProTools. If they need midi data, you could provide them with a standard midi file of your piece. These restrictions leave a lot of people out in the cold.Richard
