What on earth is CINEMATIC INSTRUMENTALS?
I'm having a hard time tryna figure out what Cinematic Instrumentals consists of... Orchestra? Rock guitars? Hi-tech? Scratching head here...Somebody... Anybody?Cheers,KelFresh, contemporary, current-sounding CINEMATIC INSTRUMENTALS are needed by the Director of Audio Products at an online Music Library/Publisher that supplies music content for media design companies. They do welcome some type of human vocal element in the arrangement, whether it be a phrase, hook, chorus or full lyric. Great performances are essential! All tempos are OK. They want original recordings from the composer, no samples from a synth or third party. They offer a negotiated fee between $500-$750 depending on the complexity of the composition and you retain 100% of your writer's share. Very Important: You must use ProTools LE software, including all MIDI data, to record your instrumentals, as that's the format they need the compositions to be delivered in (per their instructions). If you don't use ProTools LE, please do not submit to this listing. Please include your information about this in your bio. Broadcast quality needed [great sounding home recordings are OK]. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics (if applicable). All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than Tuesday, August 25, 2009. TAXI #Y090825CI

Hi Kel, I would send a couple different genres. An Action Tune (which you rock at IMHO), something more down tempo (maybe something with lots of space), and use your discretion on the 3rd. I can't nail down what they want either, so thats what I would do. How's the 50 in 90 going? Peace, Mark

I plan on listening to current movie soundtracks for my inspiration. The style is probably pretty wide open, it's the composition that will give it that "cinematic" vibe, IMO. There's a certain "something" that makes music cinematic and I think it's in how the piece is conceived. Basically the conception is guided by the visuals in cinematic music.Just my 2cMazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Hard to write "Cinematic" without some footage to write to. But that said, think of Ry Cooder and Randy Neuman. For a while it seemed they were writing everything.le Hook
