What r Ur thoughts on this?
I'm just wondering what others think abt this...If U ve 3 songs to submit for one particular listing...Would it be maximizing forward chances by submitting the tracks separately?Cos, by doing so, we would get more listeners to listen, right?Really wondering what others think abt this... hmmm...Might be a silly question but I'm seriously considering doing that...Opinions?K

Well if you want the chance of having different screeners then I guess submitting them separately would have to be the way to go. It doesn't guarantee different screeners but if you submit them together you're sure to get the same one. Is that what you mean?

Re: What r Ur thoughts on this?
Yes, Thanks Bill... I had an experience once whereby I submitted 5 diff. songs...The tracks were pretty similar cos that's just my style...I believe I had 2 diff. screeners...1 screener was totally impressed with my works... the other had quite a diff opinion... (U know how art can be subjective & everyone has their own taste & preferences cos that's just human nature)So, that's where this idea of sending separately began to manifest...Now I'm just thinking out loud & tryna get other's thoughts abt this but I think the answer has arrived =)I have decided... submitting right now...Peace is Cool,Kel

Re: What r Ur thoughts on this?
Interesting idea. Since I've had the same tunes both forwarded and rejected for similar listings by different listeners, I'd say that you might have a shot. But on the flip side, you could shoot yourself in the foot by breaking them up and having only one tune hit the listeners who "feel" your stuff, instead of having all 3 land in his or her cue.For you in particular Kel, you have so much talent and command of engineering your style, that I don't think you need to worry about trying to play the game of chance to get through. In very short order, I predict that you will be very successful at this no matter who is screening you stuff. There will always be rejections, but there will come a day (I predict sometime this year) when you will get some (many) tracks signed to people who will be willing to hear any and all of the new music you write, without having to go through screeners like Taxi. I'm not blowing smoke up your ass here. Very shortly you won't need to worry about trying any tricks at all to get forwarded. Your biggest problem will be deciding who to sign exclusive verses non-exclusive deals with.B

Perhaps as a temporary measure this might possibly do something to spread the tracks to different screeners but... ultimately it doesn't address the real issue... it's not the screeners, it's us.I'll pick on our own "world-famous" Matto here... I know that he gets returns (although he'll probably strenuously deny this ) but... the forwards he does get (which are many) aren't because he submitted in a strategic way to various screeners. I'm not commenting on you specifically, your music (which I happen to like a lot) but just the "philosophy" in general. This is for film/tv listings, not artist listings. For me... if I have a certain "style" that's part of me and that style is a little towards the edge and not really in the center, I would minimize that for listings which appeared to want more "centered" stuff and then bring it out for all it's worth for those that wanted the "outside the box" stuff. I think keeping that style for every listing and finding screeners that gravitate towards that style too... I don't know, that would be too much out of my control for my own comfort level. I'd rather submit the track that any screener would forward, no questions asked, even if I had to "bend" my style a bit to do so. An artist listing is different... gotta be true to yourself but being a "musical chameleon" for film/tv stuff... really a lot of fun when it can be pulled off convincingly. And that's what Matto does so well and why the screener really doesn't matter. Hopefully I said all that in the way I meant it... in a good way. Dave

Re: What r Ur thoughts on this?
Yes JPrincess, U can submit a max of 3 at one go... U can submit the same 3 again and U can also submit all 3 separately on 3 separate gos... For this one today... I submitted 2 on one go and 1 on another... I'l name it the "demon's submission method" for now Thanks Bryan... I always appreciate Ur encouragements, feedback and tips... I have a few "Mentors" here and U are one of them...Thanks Brindabella for helping out with info here...Thanks Dave... I totally agree with U... After a string of returns in March, I was faced with 2 choices... and I remembered U gave me very useful advice in March when I was bombarded with returns... U told me to either go for listings that are where my strength lies or to modify my style of writing to suit the listings (that to me would be the Matto way)... so, I chose the earlier, which is to focus on listings that are more suited to my style which fortunately for me, are in Abundance each month ^_^I really appreciate U taking the time to share Ur knowledge on this topic and also the one before... in March. I have a lot more to learn from U.I also wanna point out that the example I mentioned above, abt my experience with the 2 diff. screeners... that was for a listing asking for exactly what I specialize in... Industrial heavy stuff that is.I think at the end of the day there is no one guaranteed method that works for everyone... we all gotta learn from the advices that we get and come up with something that works for ourselves cos everyone is diff... have diff writing styles and are looking for diff goals... creatively and otherwise...With Gr8 Respect,Kel
