How do you think Taxi forwards music?

I know we (I) submit everything electronically to Taxi. Do you think they then burn these forwards to a CD, or do you think there is some sort of backend portal that allows the libraries to listen to what we have posted on Taxi's system?The heart of the question really goes like this, do you think, after something has been forwarded, if we upload a new version to Taxi, that the library gets to hear the latest version or the one that was listened to at the time of the forward. Just curious to see if we time to further work on stuff that is forwarded.B

We actually met with the listing people in person and they had the TAXI CD laying out on their desk.So to answer your question B, if you upload something after the song has been forwarded, I don't believe the listing party will hear your uploaded version. I don't know when the CD gets made, but my guess is that the CD's are made prior to us receiving notification of the forwards. But I have no way of backing that up.HTH,- Big Blue

I also know this. If you submit a piece for a listing you cannot remove the piece from your homepage and upload a new one until the listing ends. I have tried to do exactly this and the server will not allow the song to be renoved or changed.Keith

Peace, GeoYou can upload a new mix anytime after submission, by going to your music page and clicking on "edit". HOWEVER, once the deadline has passed, there is no way of knowing which version the screener listened to.

A while back, I wrote taxi and suggested they embed the MP3 file name on the critique sheet so we could identify which version of a mix was critiqued. Doesn't seem like it would be that big of a programming task. I never heard anything back. That causes me to suspect that the screening process may sometimes begin before the deadline.-Randy
