Two Listings - Two Tracks

Hi All, Been away from Taxi for a while but am back now and would really appreciate your thoughts on whether two of my tracks might fit the bill for two of the current listings (as of 19th Oct 2008) The first listing is Y081029ARCURRENT-SOUNDING, RADIO READY AAA/ALT ROCK/INDIE POP INSTRUMENTALS in therange of Editors, Arctic Monkeys, Dirty Pretty Things, Franz Ferdinand,Snow Patrol, Bloc Party, Cold War Kids, The Libertines, Babyshambles, TheStrokes, Muse, etc. are wanted by a very successful Production MusicLibrary who has placements with ABC, CBS, NBC, WB, Disney, Discovery,Lifetime, Fox, USA, etc. (to name just a few). They want songs that buildand grow, with melodic and dynamic variationAnd the track is "20th July 1969" on my page at http://www.taximusic.com/hosting/home.p ... am=trueThe second listing is S081118ARAAA/ALT ROCK/INDIE POP SONGS WITH VOCALS that soundradio-ready and current are needed by an East Coast MusicLibrary/Publisher for the purpose of Film/TV placements and licensing.This company has signed and placed dozen of TAXI songs, and offers anon-exclusive deal. Songs that have universal lyrics which are generalenough to apply to many different scenarios/scenes/plots/etc. will takepriority for this one. Hey Kevin!I liked the vocal on "Maybe One Day", and the sound quality on the music of both songs is very good. The hard panning of the drum elements seems to be "in" too.These listings are something I'm trying to understand too, so I'm not very qualified to evaluate the potential fit. I do think the sounds are unique and honest, so that's good. Make sure you preview your mixes in mono for a few minutes too, to make sure the elements are balanced for some TV applications. I don't know if the Taxi screeners do that (maybe I should ask )One thing that my older brain got hung up on, was I found the groove a bit interrupted in both songs, as if the L & R weren't totally in sync (might be due to the panning, or the drum track, or the guitar strum colliding with the percussion). It's hard to say for sure...and maybe I'm just outdated (<--OK, I am outdated, that's a fact )I think I would enjoy the songs more if they "hooked up" and stayed in a groove...it would be easier to listen to. I'm using headphones, so the sound never mixes in the air...and that's how the screeners preview too.That's only my $0.02, and given to you in appreciation of the cool songs you wrote, so no offense intended!P.S. "The Lion and The Cross" is just plain brilliant...wow!

Hi Devin, many thanks for taking the time to have a listen to the tracks and for your useful and thoughtful comments. Very much appreciated !I think I know what you mean about "The Groove" not sure what it is exactly but probably down to me being a guitarist rather than a drummer For tracks like these I try to get what I hope is a "real" and "natural" feel on the drums and don't use grooves or loops so it's all down to me Hopefully I'll get better as I go along ! Glad you liked "The Lion and The Cross" too ... that's a tune very close to my heart ! Best WishesKevin
