ACTION/ADVENTURE/HIGH OCTANE INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a UK-based Production Music Library for Film/TV placement opportunities. They need really high energy tracks (no vocals) for car chase scenes, sports highlights, high suspense action/thrill footage, etc. Current sounding styles would be the best choice here: Rock/Electronica/Hard Rock/etc. A blend of orchestral instrumentation with the mentioned stylistic approaches might also be a great direction to take. They'll be looking for tracks that don't sound overly synth generated - authentic, pulsing and exciting! Your track should be within 1:00-3:00 and they'll mostly want to hear mid to uptempo tracks. They offer non-exclusive, 50/50 deals. Broadcast quality needed (great sounding home recordings are OK). Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. It fits. Quite well.The only concern I had, musically, was the beginning does sound a little synthy, and they specified otherwise. But I think the song will have a solid chance, as is, anyway.The drums could be a bit bolder, perhaps some further compression, or eq. They didn't "punch" quite as much as I might like. They might be a TINY bit out front (louder than necessary), as well, which could be a positive. The snare in particular.Your song has "sports highlights" written all over it. I can nearly picture the freeze-frame photos with the changing parts you have there.Motocross, NASCAR, those guitars SOUND like engines.very nice.

I found them to be very helpful.I hadn't noticed " They'll be looking for tracks that don't sound overly synth generated " unitil you mentioned it.I'm working on the drum track, trying to get it seated in the mix better, and i added a little compression and reverb, and it really brought it to life.Again, thanks for the comments.marc

I think this is great! In my headphone mix, I was looking for just a bit more guitar, and a lot more bottom end drum.I was waiting for a more driving drum beat to capitolize on the build you had going...things started picking up around the minute mark, but the drums never rose to the rest of the music. That's just my $0.02 considering the listing (which, I'm not the oracle of knowledge I wish I was at listing deciphering ).

hey devin, i haven't seen you around for about 90 days, what have you been doing, writing 50 songs? crazy!congratulations by the way (Vikki too), what an accomplishment! I stopped at 10, but hey, i have 10 more songs than before, and i like them all, so i'm ok with it.thanks for you comments, i'll see what i can do with the drums, i also have just realized that i'm missing a freakin bass guitar part, i think that might help bring it together. i get caught up in some cool synth soundz and forget about the good ol bass.thanks, good to see you back!marc

It's great to be back...and ya, your tunes are awesome from the challenge...you did Gunner proud!Both Vikki and Linzi finished, and before I did too. And a bunch of other folks put in some good tunes along the way...yourself, Tim, Casey.. I really liked the pace of creation. Good stuff all around...I think I have 5-6 songs that I really like from that challenge, which is the most productive "keeper tunes per month" average for me this year.As for "Last Action Drag", I know you're no stranger to bass...but just holler if you want me to try any drum/bass/banjo work (OK, scratch the Banjo from the offer...but it finally got a workout during 50/90!).I think it's "ye olde kick drum and snappy snare" that I'm jonesing for.

Thanks mate! It was great fun, with only a dozen joke songs (created by request) in my count. I did do demos for all...that old Octava got a workout for sure.But I forgot to mention...our Larry W. Jones put up 300 songs! That's three, with two zeros added, for the Kingwood Kowboy. In the first two months! He won by a mile.He did lyrics, while others did demos too. I lost count of how many people did covers of Larry's songs...at one point, more that 5 people did THE SAME Larry Jones song in a two day period!OK, we now return the fair thread back to Marc and his tune !

ok, so i made a few changes, i just updated the file so there's nothing to compare, sorry.i beefed up the drums with some compression and a bit of verb,added a bass line, and added a few elements from Stylus.i also removed a part from the beginning that may have sounded overly synthy, although it still might not pass for that reason.i think this is about as good as i can get it, i'd still appreciate comments on how to improve.thanks to all for your time and ears!Marchttp://www.taximusic.com/stream/173908/Last%20 ... I'm starting to love this track! From what I recall, this version has more energy for sure Marc...nicely done!What tempo is this?I hear what you're saying about the synth in the intro...there's still one part (seems to be in my left ear a bit more) that's still a bit "generated"...I think it's one of those Stylus bits. It's not distracting in this mix though...but if it bugs you, perhaps bring the guitar in at the start? And I think the guitar could still be just a bit louder when you bring it in later on. Just a wee, tiny, itsy, bitsy....right now it isn't as loud as the stylus bits echoing around.Of course, I'm starting to memorize this song...which means it resonates with me more each time I hear it, making me biased. Heck, I'll be buying it flowers and chocolates soon....I'd spend your $5 in a heartbeat for that posting (and a good 2-3 other postings on the horizon too).My prediction: this track gets forwarded. Place yer bets folks!
