Two more for King of the Hill!

Post by marcblack30 » Fri Sep 05, 2008 8:13 am

Everyone seemed to be having alot of fun with these, so i took a crack at it and thought i'd share.i've really enjoyed listening to everyone's versions and think everyone has done an excellent job!song 1: i really like this first one "ChickaToo" but i only utilized a beat box and some bongos, may not be enough "world" flavor to see the light of day.http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... m=truesong 2: i wrote a song called "Chinese Checkers on a Bus" for the 50/90 song challenge and cut 20sec out of it for this listing.I re-titled it "ChinaTown" for this occasion.http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=trueall comments/suggestions are welcome, but mostly just wanted to share.later-marc

Song2 - Like it - has a unique, quirky feel - I didn't feel like I had heard it before - when a show has :20 to grab a viewers attention - music like this can be a definite asset.

Great tracks! I felt the first one had a bit more of a 'world' feel than the second. Both were nicely uptempo for sure.

Marc,I especially see Song 2 as being a great pitch. Upbeat, bouncy, fun, just like what they asked for... I especially like the umpa-umpa feel in the beat for this show's pitch. I might accentuate that bottom beat a little more (and maybe the upbeat on the guitar too?) to draw out that feel of the beat, something to make it "pop" a little more and give it a little more oomph to that upbeat dancy feel they are going to use. Maybe even a touch louder on the lead melody too-- it was a little soft. I think this one has a good shot at this listing! I'm going to put my bets on this one, Marc! Raags

I think Chicka Too has some "vibe" to it that works. Others (me included) went for more of an "a la" sound alike thing but yours is just a little more vibe-y, which is cool.Ultimately it's up to the screeners but it's worth it to submit, IMO.Good luck!!Mazz

I like both songs, but I think the second is really right for the listing.

Hi Marc,It sounds much brighter to me and it "pops" a little more--I really like this little tune of yours! My own personal preference was not to have the cymbal crashes (like the first one), but that's just a personal preference at this point. This is such a perky little tune, and I wish you all the best with a forward to (and a placement in!) King of the Hill!! Good luck to you, Marc!! Raags

Hey Marc,ChickaToo - The bass line sounds little too much like The Chicken by Jaco Pastorious, but screw it, I like the vibe alot!!!!ChinaTown - I like hearing someone going for more of an oriental vibe with this. The track does however sound like it ends abruptly?Nice work Marc, I hope you get the forward on either one!!!Take CareB
