Well, I'm late to this thread, but Dave and Raags, this song is great. I can't find one thing wrong with it....like so many others here, I just got carried away with Raags beautiful voice and your stellar production on this one. Now y'all just need to do a country crossover version. India meets Kenny Chesney. Good luck with it....I really think you'll get a foward!

Dave - It sounds fantastic! Really good job. Re Sonar - if all else fails, try freezing the track. I've had that flat line problem many times, and when worse came to worse I froze the track and the wave form came back. You'll be able to manipulate everything except any effects that you have on the track. However, IMO you really don't need to in this case Dave

Awesome sound, David & Raggs!I have quite a few students from India who often bring in Indian music for us to listen to/ work on-- you really captured the flavor and feel of the culture. And I agree with Steve that this arrangement feels a bit more on the meditation/ Kirtan/ chanting side of things (which may be another place to market this song) . . . a bit of jingly-ness (with cymbals and such) could turn it into more of a brighter, almost Bollywood style piece. Beautiful vocals and wonderful orchestrations & composing -- looking forward to more collaboration between you two!!SuzP.S. Which language was Raggs singing ?? Gujarati? Hindi? or

Geesh... I leave for a month, and return home to find I've been sitting in a tree with Dave. Glad to be in good company. Thanks to each and every one of you—I’ve read each of your thoughtful posts very slowly (I just got back from a spa retreat, so everything has to be done v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y ), taken in all your comments, and sat back in appreciation of all the generous feedback we received for our wee little track. Dave no doubt has a top wizard degree in music production. This is probably one song that I don't see as easily fitting into any clear genre as such, so I'm envisioning a perfect match for someone who really needs something out of the box and finds this to be just the ticket. And if we do find that someone, we’ll surely be making more and more! Otherwise, it's back to the square pegs for the square holes... Yeah, that's what it means. I translate it as "Oh My Lover", as it has a sweeter feel to it when used in real life. "Oh my darling" makes me thing of Clementine. Yeah, something like that.

We learn the tune from the lead sheet and also by watching the original video on You Tube. My student's goal is to learn several of these songs to surprise her grandmother (who is from Hindi). It's fun!So, who knows? Perhaps I'll learn a bit of hindi along the way and be able to say (in Hindi): "Yo, Girlfriend, How's things?" when we meet in person some day? ,Suz i
