Anyone for PSYCHEDELIC ROCK SONGS?

Post by orest » Fri Jul 25, 2008 2:31 pm

I am thinking that maybe I will submit to this listing. I have one instrumental piece and one with vocal. Do you think that they only want songs with vocals? Anyone else submitted to this one? "PSYCHEDELIC ROCK SONGS -- in the wide range of "old school" Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett, Blue Cheer, etc. to the more modern sounds of Echo and The Bunnymen and Spacemen 3 and on to current bands like Spiritualized, The Flaming Lips, The Black Angels and Dead Meadow -- are needed by an Independent Music Publisher. This Publisher has tons of Film/TV placements and has signed dozens of TAXI writers. He's clearly open to a broad spectrum of eras and approaches, but the quality and performance should be excellent. The President of this company will be screening the submissions himself. This company splits the license fee with you 40/60 [that 60% is for you] and doesn't take any publishing. Broadcast quality needed [excellent home recordings are OK]. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS -- NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI -- and must be received by July 30, 2008."

Orest! While I haven't submitted to this listing, I am familiar with a coupla' bands that are listed there. I would say this is definitely a listing where they're looking for vocals. From what I've seen in the past, if they were also looking for instrumentals, it would probably say so somewhere in the description. I don't see anything saying that, so I'd bet that they're looking for vocals on this one. Just my $.02. Good luck!I-468
