Got Country Forwards

Post by leejohnson » Tue Nov 13, 2007 8:57 am

Hi this is not a "brag" but a response to the guy wondering if anyone has ever had country forwards. I have been busting butt, and realize the country format is a very high bar. This is what appeals to me. If I can crack this code, I'm a writer. The Nashville writers are amazing and I am drawn to the work ethic, tactics etc...so I attended NSAI song camps, Songposuim, Publisher Monday, faculty concerts, Durango Song Expo, read a ton of books and take online classes at Song U as well as meet people on songramp. I research a bunch and need to do even more of that. Anyhow for what it's worth I am happy to have 2 forwards and look forward to many more. My song "Gettin Up To No Good" was forwarded 2x for the following listings S070713CO and S070607CR. I have since re-written and re-demoed it!!! Why? because it needed it and there were a couple lines that repeatedly receieved the same type of critique. Now it is even stronger. Best Wishes to all!!!!!Lee Johnsontaxi.com/leejohnson (need to upload more stuff)www.leejohnsonsongs.com (more of the cateloque)www.myspace.com/leejohnsonsongswww.boulderguitar.com (day job teaching lessons)

Hey, Lee.....I can see why "Gettin' Up To No Good" was fowarded twice....it's a great song. I listened to several of your songs, and I really like "Propeller Planes." You have a knack for good storytelling. I can see that song appealing to someone like Rodney Atkins. I saw a listing for him not too long ago. Do you produce your own demoes......you really have that Nashville sound going on....as they say, your song has all the furniture.I write country too, and I've also had one foward. For me, it's the ultimate challenge......I have a stubborn streak a mile long.
