Instrumental acoustic guitar tunes
I have a bunch of acoustic guitar tunes for this listing...More to come this week...Tough listing to size out. ACOUSTIC GUITAR INSTRUMENTALS with very simple arrangements are needed by an Academy Award-nominated Documentary Film Producer. She's not looking for elaborate instrumentation or accompanying tracks that get in the way of the acoustic guitar. A sparsely arranged, lush and poignant acoustic melody is what's really needed here. There is no style limitation, but mid tempo to ballad will be preferable. If you stripped the vocal from a David Gray song, you would be in the ballpark of what this producer is hoping to find. Broadcast quality and excellent performances are a must. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received by April 15, 2008. TAXI #Y080415INI think ( hope ) that these are on target. So Long Old Friend ( M.Goudreau - Socan )http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... Everywhere I Turn ( M.Goudreau - Socan )http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=1Before You Leave ( M.Goudreau - Socan )http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... &stream=1I don't think these sound like a David Gray song but I think they are sparsely arranged, lush and poignant with acoustic melody.... what's really needed here they say...We'll see. Cheers,MG

Re: Instrumental acoustic guitar tunes
Hey Mikey! I agree, they both fit the listing description but not necessarily the example. That could work, still. I thought the first one would make a heckuva jazz torch tune if you ever wanted to add-on. The second one was lovely, both of these have a trademark French/European lilt to them that would be excellent for european type tracks too, if you find any. If you don't get forwarded, add accordion and pitch again! The last one is the most likely to be forwarded, imho (like we can read screener's minds! LOL)....it's American acoustic at its best. Very very pretty. And of course, you may chuck my opinion out the nearest window, swee'pea. It ain't worth beans!

Hey Squids, thanks for takin' a minute to listen and commenting ...''So Long Old Friend'' was a Jazz song originally that I wrote when one of my long time friends died...He was 75 and was a great sax player from Brooklyn N.Y. but had been living in Quebec for the past 40 years...I still miss him I will definitely do a Jazz arrangement on that some time. The others were written for a library in L.A. ( they were signed a while back...Non-exclusive ) I agree with your comments 100%...I have 4 other songs to submit to this but at 5$ a crack I will try to choose wisely ( that's 35$ on a listing that I'm not sure of having the right stuff) ...But that's hard to do with these types of listings I value your opinion very much because we speak the same lingo..Take care,Mike

He sounds like a wonderful friend and amazing influence. Your song means that much more to me now. Beautiful tribute.

Hey Mike...love all 3 songs...not sure exactly what they're looking for here either. If I stripped the vocal away from a David Gray song, I'd get a keyboard song, for the most part...Listings like this can drive you nuts. I too have a few songs that I'm going to end up submitting, but not sure if they fit the criteria...Oh well...good luck!!Harry

Cheers,MGHey, Mike.I'll have to agree with you there, for the most part. On ALL counts. I don't hear David Gray, necessarily, but these are terrific, beautiful, emotional pieces. IMHO, "Before You Leave" is the closest one to fitting ALL the details they're asking from you. But I'd honestly say all three of them have a good shot at moving forward.Keep us posted.Ted

Re: Instrumental acoustic guitar tunes
Thanks Tim W for your 2 cents, you are right about sending 3 tunes and then pitching others...If fowarded...Then contacted...Thing is I have 3 other songs and I can't decide which ones are the best out of the 6... This listing is a coin toss to me and I want to give myself the best chances...It might also be my usual lack of confidence in myself ...I'll wait till Monday to send them in...Listing is due next Tuesday. Thanks for listening Ted...You're the second person here who votes for '' Before you Leave ''( That was Squids choice too )...So that one will be sent for sure. Cheers, Mike

Re: Instrumental acoustic guitar tunes
Hey Mike - I listened to your 3 tracks...all very nice. I'm kind of a beginner here so I don't have any real advice. Everywhere I turn is probably my favorite. There's something reminiscent in the second measure that reoccurs, maybe from a John Denver tune?? Love it! I've been working on one that I'll be submitting...I may post it in the next day or so...Good work and good luck!!Justin
