Chuck,Yeah, fix that V chord and you've got it nailed!I saw that sale and I've already been responding to other sales so I may need to slow down a bit!! Someone needs to write a song about "I was my own Santa Claus and my back is hurting from carrying such a heavy credit card balance" or something more poetic than that (I bet you're glad I don't write lyrics!).That Jazz Kit sounds great, I hope it has brushes!!Good stuff!Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Quote:Hi Casey,Our posts must have hit at the same time cause I wasn't responding to yours, I was responding to Chuck's saying that he changed the drums and mix. I think your opinion is valid and your ears are hearing something that's bugging you and that's fine. I'd be interested in knowing what you are hearing and/or feeling because I miss a lot by listening too much with an engineer's ears!I want to learn from you too!MazzWell my reaction is as I said. I thought the drum was distracting in some way... maybe too prominent. I don't know the technical stuff of drums loops, etc., I just feel like it's banging in my ears a little too much. Hopefully a few more people will give their opinions. If possible, I'd like to hear a mix with the drums at a lower volume level. (It could also be because I have a headache from a long day of work ) Casey

Chuck,I agree with Mazz on the chord change. First listen I kind of went "huh"???Here's my only issue with the mix, and it's probably minor. The drums are big and wide, both in panning and frequency, but the guitars are more narrow in both ways. things like Mannheim Steamroller and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra seem to be mixed almost the opposite as I recall -- drums a little lower in the mix, guitars bright, wide and in a small cathedral. To me, that's the only flavor that might be missing.Aub

Aub,I only added reverb to the drums. The effects on the guitars are in the patches I used from the VG99. Do you think I should put everything in the same space? Here's the fix on the five chord:http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... eam=1Chuck

Back the drums down just a touch, and give the guitars some room with the same reverb. IMHO it will help glue it all together.Of course it could sound like crap too Never know for sure until you hear it.Aub
