what exactly is needed for this listing?

Post by gitarrero » Sat Sep 01, 2007 6:46 am

hi gang, that's the listing:*****The Owner of a new Music Library needs a wide range of DRAMA INSTRUMENTALS (no vocals) for MYSTERY/SUSPENSE/HORROR SCENES for use in film/TV/commercials, etc. This production music veteran signed dozens of TAXI writers to his previous company, and wants to repeat that same type of success with this new venture. He needs tracks with button ending -- no fade-outs. This company will offer a standard exclusive deal where they will control the publishing rights of the songs they sign, the writer keeps the writer's share of the royalties, and the license fees are split between company & writer. Great performances are essential. *****question: are they looking for background-tracks (suspense, mystery mood-tracks like in "CSI" or similar)..? or maybe something more orchestrated?has anybody a good sound-example/mp3 of such a track?thanks!martin

Martin,My take is yes to both questions. I'm deciding if I have anything existing to submit or maybe writing a CSI/orchestra type piece, kind of blending both of them. Here's a link to 3 cuts that I think are close (suspenseful, mystery) but not scary enough for horror.http://www.johnmazzei.com/album/13I'm gonna have to take a stab in the dark on this one myself. Good luck!Mazz
Evocative Music For Media

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

thanks mazz,I think I know now better what is needed here - yeah I agree that your samples could be more scary for "horor". besides that, they sound great!cheers, martin
